Longacre 52002 Tyre Pressure Gauge

Bo'S View – tyre pressure gauge is great, handy to not have to go to sevrvo to check your tyres. small key ring style but great to keep in glove box. Go Dick
The last tyre pressure gauge you will ever buy! – I purchased this from V-Sport at Arndell Park Sydney NSW for $83. It was to replace many other inaccurate and inconsistent gauges I have accumulated over the years. This was mainly purchased for general pressure monitoring and airing down 4wd tyres. Accuracy and consistency are my main criteria as we go as low as 12 psi in some situations and if it's not accurate, we can easily lose a tyre off the rim.
With pressures between 15-45 psi being used regularly, it was a no brainer to get the liquid filled 0-60 psi model as most gauge accuracy peaks mid scale.
This gauge is not only extremely well made, it feels really good in the hand and is by far the most accurate and consistent I have owned.
It's deflation valve is solid and positive and dumps air at a rapid rate on a normal sized 4wd tyre. Not quite as quick as a rapid deflater, but no slouch either.
By the time you've screwed a rapid deflator on, unscrewed the valve, slipped the collar up, slipped the collar down, screwed the valve back in then unscrewed the deflater from the tyre, it would be a dead heat. And then you'll only be guessing your pressures with a rapid deflater because they all come with inaccurate, inferior gauges. My rapid deflater won't be used again unless one day I decide to go silly sized tyres or buy a monster truck.
Working in the petrochemical industry, I have access to some very sensitive pressure testing and calibration equipment through our instrument workshop. So I did some testing of my own.
Any error on this gauge was less than half a psi across the range tested. (8-52 psi) and the consistency of readings was very close to100% regardless of increasing up to test pressure, or venting down to test pressure.
My eyes just can't read the scale any better than that, so the Longacre 52002 is going to be more accurate and consistent than most humans using it.
Also tested a mates Mxxxxx Pro Series gauge (yep, he's a boy racer) and although it's accuracy was on par with the Longacre 52002, I don't thinks it's as well made and he paid 3 times what I did. Lol !
Accurate, consistent, well made and great value.
Go buy one. You won't be sorry.
