Can't even login / access the "TRIAL" software – Same as the other reviewer here. I too have tried 3 different software versions from MAGIX and have encountered problems. Every time they get to the 'register' steps but never sends an e-mail with the trial code so can't access the software. And, again, there is no way to contact them! I too have concluded it is NOT worth the hassle. Such as shame as I was a Sony Vegas Movie Studio user and like it, but it seems MAGIX as the new owners don't care about small time users like us. I've since downloaded with ease and am trying the CYBERLINK power director software - it was seamless to install and access.

Purchased in for $0.

Free Trial Will not even work – I was recommended the Video Editor Pro X (Magix Software) and so I went to the link to download the free trial. It took a while but it all loaded and installed successfully (or so it said). But when trying to start it up it gave the message that it could not start as it was missing some file. Not to worry, this happens with large programs, so I uninstalled it and tried again. This time it installed a little quicker but again, would not start (same message).

So this time I uninstalled it and deleted everything I had downloaded and went to the Magix site itself and downloaded the Free Trial from them. Surely, I thought, it will work now.

No, exactly the same thing happened. Would not start up - same message. All this took hours, so I gave up in disgust. If the software installs, and tells you the installation was successful, surely it has done all the checks to see it has everything it needs to work! Obviously not this one.

And then looking at the Magix home page, check out the attached screen shot... a lazy typo from someone he couldn't be bothered to even check what they typed. The failed Trial software plus that, gives me a strong indication that this whole company may have quality control issues.

On top of that, a lowly potential customer like me cannot even contact the company to tell them about it or see how it can be resolved! You need to have purchased a product first before they will allow you to contact them! How arrogant! This is often the case with very large companies - they miss out on the finer details and do not care so much when people complain as it does not affect them adversely.

Time to find another company and product.
