Contaminated Garlic Paster – Bough a 1Kg jar of Maharaja's Choice Garlic Paster from local Coles, and to my disgust when I opened the jar bits of rust fell out on my kitchen counter. The lid was rusted and jar of garlic contaminated. I have tried contacting the distributor Ostindo International Pty Ltd, haven't heard back. Have informed Coles, Casey Council & Health Department. Expiry on Jar May 2027 Show details

Great Product great Price – Been using this garlic paste for a few weeks now with great results the only downside with it being as it is a paste and not crushed garlic it does tend to coat everything which isn't ideal if your doing a stirfry. but for the Indian dishes I've done it's worked well with great garlic flavour and it dissolves throughout the sauce. Also really good… Read more
when doing flavoured butters and aoli. Plus it keeps really well in the fridge and I had no wastage at all. Bought at Coles and for $4.95 for a 1kg jar it's great value
Garlic Paste - Possibly adulterated with Corn Flower – We brought the Maharja's Choice Garlic Paste and used this as we normally use for Bangladeshi/Indian Cooking. But we noticed that the Maharaj's Choice Garlic Paste is very different than normal Garlic Paste and unlikely Whitish in colour. This is made in India. After cooking we further noticed the curry gravey became SLURRY like as produced by… Read more
Powder Corn Flower. When we searched the ingredients there is nothing to mention that there are any flower/Corn Flower but below under allergen it has been mentioned as Wheat. The Garlic Paste shall not contain Wheat - I wonder if this could be adulterated with Corn Flower and might not be good for culinary test and might damage the organs further. I would like to know if this could be reported to the controllers food standards authority for urgent testing and investigation .
I will never use this product - or spend my money on unreliable food products marketed by this company.
