hi-fi quality stereo sound and reproduces excellent movie sound effect. Excellent mid-high range. Adequate bass. Solidly made and powerful enough to drive a 7.1 system for a moderate size room. The video up-conversion via HDMI is handy. The remote is a universal programmable with BACKLIGHT. There is no iLink (IEEE1394 firwire)for direct digital link between the source of SACD/DVD-A and the receiver.
