Poor quality strap material.over foot. Internal fabric material pills badly, holds heat and is very uncomfortable. It consistently breaks just above where it joins the sole. I have worn these for 30 years and unfortunately I will be looking for an alternative footwear to where inside. Show details

It's good to see I'm not alone. In short, I have been buying and wearing these sandal for decades. Recently, the soles of the ones I've bought have disintegrated after a short time, they are unwearable. I've messaged Maseur twice with no response. They have obviously changed the formula and it doesn't last anytime like they used to.

This was my first purchase, and unfortunately the quality is very poor, as shown in the attached photos. I purchased the item from the pharmacy while it was sealed in the box, so I was unable to try on the size 8 at the time. As I am normally a size 8, I assumed it would fit. Poor fitment/Size guide inaccurate. Massaging nodules broke off in less than 2 months. I paid $49 at Chemist warehouse. The Kmart brand cost $11 and lasted for 12 months. Go figure. Show details
Poor quality and sizing is incorrect. My foot size is the 6 according to there size guide and my heels just over the edge. The soles are slippery on slate, tiles and carpet. They should all be recalled. Only a matter of time if someone falls over and asks for compensation. Not the same quality like they use to be. Show details
Disappointing – I guess my experience seems to be like many others - individual nodules break off then entire patches break away (refer photo) well before the rest of the slider wears out. One slider is fine, the other isn't. The rest of the slider is in good order so it just seems wasteful. I used to wear these every day for months and months and months when I lived in Darwin a few decades ago and wore them out well before they fell apart. Show details · 1

that I’ve worn them out for a 15minute shop for the second time with the same rubbed raw results, I am not sure I can wear them anymore. I NEVER had the issue before I am having with my new purchase: the leather straps are so wide, thick, stiff and unforgiving that they rub my toes raw! Whoever designed these thongs should be ashamed. It might be therapeutic on the sole of your feet but will strip the skin off the top of your feet in minutes not even hours. Thongs can be worn all day everyday these can be worn for 10 minutes at most before drawing blood. Show details

Not the same – I bought three pairs in different colours of the "gentle" version based on experience with them years ago. What a world of difference! The straps abused my toes. swapping to Birkenstock's when I went away on holiday. The pain and cramping stopped. My toes stopped clawing. I had known the straps were terribly uncomfortable but persisted in the hope they would soften and mould with wear. Never realising that they were actually causing potentially permanent damage. I am now having to exercise my toes to coax them to flatten out. Epic fail.

Feel nice to wear until they fall apart after a few months – Bought maseurs in November so worn for about 4 months and they are losing the pins from the soles. the photos show they are very lightly worn but the pins have snapped off completely. I didn’t keep the receipt so can’t even argue with them. Next time I’ll try Birkenstocks. Apparently they are good quality. Very disappointed. I’m also glad I didn’t have these when my kids were crawling. Little bits of rubber would have been tempting for mouthing children. I think the company should have a review for the safety of their product or warn potential customers that pins may snap off and be dangerous for young children.
Why change something that was perfect – The souls are now slippery, the strap cuts into you. I had to order non slip stickers for the souls before I can wear them, I nearly had a bad fall on my tiles. Why change a shoe that was perfect? They cost so much more, but the quality is terrible. Can’t believe how different they are.
Thank you ! Disintegrating soles yet perfect tops replaced – Yesterday I received a brand new pair of Maseur's in the mail from McPherson's Quality Control. This is what I expect when a product is faulty and not fit for purpose. I would give a 5 star had I not had to argue in the first place. I really hope that the manufacturing problem has been fixed. the sandals and put them on. They definitely weren't as comfortable as my previous pairs, but I wore them anyway. However, after a few weeks, some of the massaging nodules started to fall off the base of the shoe. Initially, I didn't worry, but then large patches started falling away. I contacted the company to explain the issue, but they weren't interested, simply stating they'd pass my feedback on to their brand team. Unfortunately, I hadn't checked this site before purchasing, as if I had I would have realized the product quality had diminished from my previous experience and I wouldn't have wasted my money. In times with raising inflation it's disgusting for a company to continue to sell a product they know is poor quality (just read all the reviews below) and do nothing about it. I really hope this review stops others from wasting their money.
Horrible customer service – I have only worn these sandals twice..they have left my toe bruised and red. I emailed and called ..she said there's nothing she could do. Don't buy ever from these people.
I was expected the soft straps from previous years. My feet are torn apart, the top straps are too wide and thick – I found them in a chemist They are not like the original Please go back to the original quality, as these hurt the top of the foot
Poor quality – There are air holes in the rubber... the deliberate air holes have large cut out areas that make the area under the ball of the foot uneven, and the poor quality rubber rubber has random holes elsewhere.
Straps hurt my feet – I still have my old gentle sandals and can compare the straps. The new straps are much wider and don't fit my feet, they hurt. They are not the same product as before. I won't be able to wear these everywhere like I could my others. Disappointed.
Horrific on my feet – These are the single most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever put on my feet. The top straps shred my skin within minutes of wearing. And the nodules are incredibly painful. I’ve given them a chance on several occasions and have ended up having to take them off and go barefoot as it’s like walking on Lego.

Strap keeps breaking – I love wearing Maseur sandals but the strap has broken away from the base on two pairs now after just a few months. I have not done anything that would cause them to split like they have, I simply wear them around like I would wearing thongs. This seems to be a design flaw, as you can see by the pics attached they’re relatively new still
Faulty, – Nodules of my new black Maseur Sandles started fall off at around 6 months, because I rang just out of the time allowed they would not replace, didn't want to know about it at all. I've been told Maseur have changed the manufacturing process. Reading the reviews on this site it appears Maseur have been made aware of the poor quality product they are now selling. $50 for sandals that last just over 6 months, what a rip off. Selling a faulty product and refusing to replace it is extremely poor customer service.
Falling Apart – I’ve worn masseur sandals for many years and recently bought a new pair and shocked at the quality. Less than 6 months old and all the modules are falling off and continue to do so if I wear them. Have contacted the company to let them know as something isn’t right. obviously the quality and workmanship is now just rubbish however they are just as expensive to purchase. Emailed McPherson and sent photos but unless proof of purchase could be given they were not interested. One would think that they would have been at least responsive/interested in commenting on the 'state' of the shoes displayed in the photos. Lost me as a customer and never will I buy again.

I contacted customer service, and they are not helpful at all. For them, they claimed, it is only a change of mind. Therefore exchange or refund is not permitted. They actually work and keep your tired feet reinvigorated and feeling fresh – I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews however they are so completely comfortable and work. I ordered my third pair in 6 years, straight from their website and have had no problems with quality. If you want to buy a pair I strongly suggest avoid the local chemist and buy straight from their website in Sydney.
