MATelec Wireless Photoelectric Smoke Alarm Detector FSA-30000
MPN: FSA-300004 reviews
These are absolute rubbish. Constantly go off for no reason. Buy something else. These won't detect fire because they're in a box turned off and heading for the rubbish bin. Total crap. Show details
Follow-up · No, they're still crap. Buy something else.

Maybe a bad batch maybe not-false alarms – EDIT 4JUNE24: Company was very responsive to my email complaint and are sending another batch of replacement smoke alarms with a return aust post pouch so that they can check out what the problem is with the alarms. Very happy with their response - here's hoping the replacement alarms have no problems (I'll update in 12 months). Product (FSA30000)… Read more
just over 12 months old installed by non-dodgy electrician 17 April 2023. There is 1 x hardwired and 4 x interconnected and 1 x remote. The false alarming started around end of April 2024-the remote didn't work (it's not cheap either) and there were no environmental reasons for the alarms (no fire/smoke no high humidity, no rain, no cooking - no reason). Next false alarm 31 May 2024 - the remote did not work again, one alarm wouldn't stop so I removed it from the ceiling. Again no smoke no fire no high humidity basically no environmental reasons for the alarm. I got to the end of my tether 1 June 2024 when even the hardwired one was false alarming. There was a false alarm first thing and I removed all of the interconnected ones from the ceiling leaving just the hardwired one active. When the hardwired one started alarming I opened it up and that's where it is right now-inactive/inoperable - I can't put up with the false alarms. The alarms have been looked after (vacuumed and tested monthly) and whilst I have only just written to the company today (1June2024) I really don't hold out any hope of them replacing what seem to be dodgy alarms. They are just over a year old and all from the same batch number. I did note that the electrician had to ditch 3 during install - perhaps I should have taken that as a warning.
Would not buy this product again – Matelec FSA 30000 installed August 2022. February 2024 started beeping every 35-40 seconds. Cleaned as directed. Still beeping. Contacted installer who said it needed a new battery. The battery in this model cannot be replaced, you need to buy a whole new unit. So 5 year warranty, useless. Lithium battery supposed to last 10 years, useless.
