Maze 100L Minitank

We were looking for a small tank to fit outside under the back of the verandah. We found Maze products that make these small tanks.You can buy 1,2 or 3 tanks with stands, link them together with the levelling kit and a downpipe diverter. We purchased the 3 tank delux kit which had everything included to set up and get going straight away. It came in good time and was easy to install and at a great price $299 .

Look flimsy but are durable and long lasting – I purchased my first Maze 100L Water Tank back in 2011 from Bunnings when they had them on their shelves. I had reservations at first because the tank appeared to be thin and flimsy. It was important to me that it did not fail as I needed it for my hydroponic tomato garden I had set up in the shed. The last thing I needed was visit from the fire brigade because of a tank failure that flooded the electrical components in my main grow room. I placed the tank above the grow chem reservoir and connected it to a float valve to keep reservoir full as my thirsty tomato plants were drinking over 100 litres a day. I’m not a fan of supermarket tomatoes as they have no flavour, my home grown hydroponic tomatoes grow a deep juicy red and are full of flavour so investing in this tank was well worth it.

I was really impressed with this product and purchased several more over time. Even Aldi sometimes stock them in in a grey colour for their special buys from time to time and you can purchase them for around $60 to $75. My oldest tanks are now outside and I use them to gravity feed grey water from my washing machine to my outside garden. There is a little uv damage to the lid but no damage to the tanks themselves. This is impressive as they have been out in the sun well over ten years.

I noticed Maze changed the design of the tank stand recently. I understand why they did as the new design comes in three pieces and can fit inside the tank for easy transport. I prefer the original design. The new design is not as good as it seems less stable and has voids in it that fill up with spider webs. It’s also a little lower than the original stands so when you mix new to old there is a height difference.

All in all these tanks are a great product, Australian made and long lasting. I’m happy with my purchase
