Wobbly Tank

On the slightest angle it will fall over when full – I’m not sure if it is a problem with the base or the shape of the tank. Twice I have had the tank fall over when full. The second time I tried levelling the tank more and it still fell over when it was full. I won’t be buying another one.

Appreciated by termites – I have a 100L Maze tank, but it has the same rainwater diverter as the 190L version. The diverter design is terrible. Because it regularly gets blocked up by leaves and the centre outlet hole to the rest of the down pipe is a mere 20mm diameter, the thing regularly overflows and floods the ground around the bottom of the down pipe. I didn't think… Read more

a lot about it until my house was invaded by termites. The exterminator said they'd been attracted by the water which had been overflowing from this diverter, and presented me with a bill for $700. No, I do not recommend the Maze rainwater tanks and I've removed the diverter.

The diverter is one size only – I bought the mini tank and diverter from Bunnings but the diverter doesn't fit the downpipes. It is twice the size. Maze's web site says it fits all standard downpipes and Bunnings website says it fits all downpipes. I need the water tank, my water bills were huge last summer. I have contacted Maze but the person I need to speak to is away. Does… Read more

anyone know if I can adjust the diverter to fit the downpipes, or is there an alternative with another brand?

I own 3 of these and I love them – I don't understand the negative reviews on here. The tanks are simple to assemble, easily moved and work brilliantly. I've owned two of them for over a year and love them so much I recently bought a third. I've experienced none of the issues the others are talking about. Would happily recommend them to others and have done over and over to friends.

The outlet is of poor design and manufacture. It leaks! – Although the design of the tank has some thoughtful features, such as the child proof lid and the tapering construction to allow for optimum water pressure, the "bung hole" is both faulty in design and poorly manufactured. It was off-centre in the one I purchased. As well, the rubber O-Ring (washer) provided with the tap was slightly too large… Read more

for the tap fitting. Result - drip, drip, drip around the fitting. The problem could be resolved by the manufacturer fitting a flanged plastic internally threaded boss, sealed by heat or glue, into the hole with the flange moulded to fit the tank. With plumbers tape applied, you screws the tap into the boss for a water tight fit. Just like on proper old fashioned gal iron tanks. My advice - DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT AS IT IS FAULTY IN DESIGN AND - IN MY CASE - IN MANUFACTURE.

Mosquito farm 190Lt – This review is for the 190lt Minitank not the 100lt. Its made of sturdy material but I don't think the designer understands (or lives in areas with) mosquitoes. The cover has quite a lot of holes for mosquitoes and even frogs to enter in. I had to cut up plastic pieces to plug the holes.
