Meander Valley Double Cream

The best cream WITH NO ADDITIVES. Rich and beautiful thick texture, perfect real cream. Superb. Compared to all the others with so many other ingredients this is a clear winner. So why are Woolies and Coles not stocking it?! Haven't been able to find it for a whole used to buy this regularly.

Real cream! – Real cream! No additives needed. No thickeners. Perfect for my recipes, coffee in the morning or served with fresh fruit. Thank you farmers and suppliers :-)

Off yet within expiry – I’m wary of any product this brand produces as all but one time the product has been off yet within expiry. More concerning is that after contacting them and providing the details they conducted a batch test which confirmed the product was off before leaving the premises and that they would organise a recall and reimburse me. Well neither happened and I’ve been ignored by customer service. On returning the product to the supermarket I was told a number of customers had returned the product. They were surprised at the poor service by the company.

Inferior products with poor customer service is not a wise business model.

Cream had a sour flavour - why? – As soon as I opened this product, I noticed that is smelled more like sour cream than fresh cream. No cultures were listed in the ingredients, and it wasn't expired according to the use by date, so the sour smell was a bit strange. The taste was a mildly sour too, so I decided not to use it.

Best cream ever! ~ when it's not on the turn – Being on a keto diet this has been my treat. I actually eat it with a spoon. It is thick, rich, and heavenly, and a really easy way to get the fats that I need for my diet. That is, however, if it is at it's best. Unfortunately I'd say that at least 1 in 5 on average appears to be more the flavour of creme fraiche (ie, sour) than of double cream. This comes from eating up to one tub of cream per day over the last three months of my diet. The last time I purchased it I found that of the three tubs that I bought they all were afflicted with the tart flavour. I had previously contacted Meander Valley about my concerns (after I'd had 3 out of 5 tubs effected) and they kindly informed me that they're customer service would get back in touch with me for more information and a refund. Unfortunately they didn't, and given that this seems to just be an ongoing issue (I've brought the product in NSW, A.C.T., and Victoria, with each state having a similar rate of effected product) I have now lost my faith in the product and will be getting my fats from other sources.
