A man’s man beer – This beer is the epitome of an Australian lager, the crisp and non offensive taste is easy on the palate second only to Victoria bitter, this may be a controversial opinion but it is my opinion. Best enjoyed in an ice cold stubby with a good steak or decent cut of lamb. Sadly is NSW Melbourne bitter is very rare and only ever found in Dan Murphy’s where I live, and even rarer is finding it on tap, the only place I know of having it is the steyne hotel. Additionally the price of a case in NSW makes it a bit of a special occasion type beer for me but I can never say no to an ice cold Melbourne bitter

Purchased at Dan Murphy's for $65.

Nectar of the Gods – Won't drink anything else, superior compared to VB, Carlton Draught & Dry, Corona and others that i've tried over the years. Shame that the price is so high in QLD compared to VIC though. $49 in VIC, $63 in QLD. Very expensive for an Australian Lager. Won’t stop me drinking it though. Quality over price.

Purchased in at Dan Murphy's for $62.99.

Only for people who like bitter Beer – Theres many types of tastes in beer, and people bleat on like wine buffs but what I've found after drinking everything that's been put in my face for 30 years you either like bitter beers like Melbourne, VB, XXXX and Emu or you don't. Me I can't deal with heavy malted or other stuff or the tasteless pilsners the yanks drink which may as well be called cold yellow water.

If your a person who like bitter beer your an apparent minority today in a sea of namby pamby drinks which have no reference to the type of flavour you'll encounter like fat yak.. What is a fat yak?

No give me a can of bitter anything. Ice cold on a hot day and I'm a happy camper.

A true bitter beer – This is one of my favourite brews from the Carlton stable. A true bitter beer and full of the flavour of malt and is easy to drink anytime. The only problem is getting it outside of Victoria but once found this one is a keeper and you will allways return to enjoy this bitter beer. Taste. availability
