This business unfortunately has a history of being taken to court for poor workmanship, so I would strongly encourage anyone engaging this service to use a trusted air conditioning person with positive reviews instead. Avoid staying at Metropolitan Hotel. They tell you the damage deposit will be refunded at checkout, but that’s not what actually happens. Extremely expensive - avoid – Tradesman who came out for a gas fitting job was very knowledgable and friendly, though price was exorbitant, i.e. more than 4 x what I've since found out to be the going rate for comparable job. Companies like this only win short term, especially now that I've seen the majority of other reviews saying a similar story.

Saturday service – C.p clear instructions as to the problem and provided a suitable remedy blocked drain. The only problem is that they know how to charge.

RC service - came when they said they would and messaged when on the way. $141 for call out fee and $1839 to replace two copper pipes under sink with flexi - don’t think he was even here for 30 mins- will not be calling Metro Group in future for anything!

JT was very helpful in explaining the problem and detailed what needed to be rectified. Totally made sense and I felt comfortable with the process as outlined. John was most courteous and professional at all times.I felt confident in his ability and felt safe with him and cc in the house. Well done!

Absolute rip off, air con wasn’t working so they came and quoted that it would need a rejuvenation. Charged 3k for the “rejuvenation” rocked up at 4.30 and called me at nearly 5 saying the aircon was all good. It worked for a day then stopped again. I got them back to quote fixing it properly as the rejuvenation cost would come off total cost and they said na it is too big of a job we wouldn’t even do it

The technician finally arrived this booking was supposed to be between 10- To 1 pm - we then had to call at 1pm when we had no update

The technician arrived at just after 2pm .

He did not even get on the roof. To inspect the unit.

He said we would Need a full work. Which would cost Upto $1200

If this was the case we should have been asked these questions up front.

We are now out of pocket 140$ For nothing - there was no investigation on site.

This is a scam - be careful-

We have a unit that is old yes.

We have been advised that the unit could have had an annual maintenance service,

and this would have painted a picture instead they wanted the $1200 full service-

And we were told a replacement would be around 3- 4 k we got a quote for 8500$

This company will scam you out of the 140 and not even look at the unit be aware

I paid a call out fee of $140 to be told in the quote that it was going to cost me $740 to replace a light switch. I could not believe how expensive it was I feel like I was robbed of my $140 call out fee. This is morally wrong to do this to customers.

electrician looked for two minutes and said it will be $1,149 to investigate the problem. If the fault is found a seperate quote to fix the problem will be done. This is a scam. No commitment to find or fix the problem that was already explained on the phone and over a thousand dollars for 1 hour effort? Anyway I took my loss on service fee and proceed with another company immediately who who had $300 service charge to attend and included 30 minutes of investigation before per hour effort. They found the issue in no time and I paid $500 though they only asked for $300 in appreciation for a honest work.

Unconscionable conduct. Ripped off my 88 yo mum by installing a new water heater and charging $7000. This company is rotten and I cannot understand how people can work for them and not admit to themselves that this is predation of the most vulnerable people in the community.

Technician booked to arrive in 30 minutes. 2hrs wait; although did receive text messages updating expected arrive time. 20 minutes later A/C working (minus time to go back down to car to get headlamp) and $1249 later A/C working. Tech stated that he performed a "hard reset" and queried if there had been a power outage as everything appears to be in fine order considering the age and location of the unit. 20 minutes after technician left (electrician, because the aircon guy was on leave) it stopped working. Response to contact took 4 days with a quote to provide additional unspecified rejuvenation and re-gas as a leak was detected during the technician's visit $2829. Requested a detailed invoice of the rejuvenation that had occurred, declined as its outlined in the recorded message. Will never call these guys again.

Made a booking through Metropolitan. Mr Emergency arrived instead. Do not use this service. Quoted over $2000 to diagnose the issue, not fix it, + $140 booking fee. The job was completed by a different company for $230 without a call out fee. Don't waste your time or money.

Completely mislead when you book in. I specfically asked if the call out fee included inspecting the airconditoning unit and then repair onsite. The answer was yes if you accept the quote. for a GOLD SERVICE Clean... no diagnostics no idea what the problem is. So you basically pay $140 for a quote. They then send someone back out to do the Clean and dont guarantee the unit will work... Sadly this is my error as I didnt do reasearch like I would normall.

Paid a call out fee for a technician to come and fault find my aircon and quite a repair The technician quoted me 4.5k for a service and told me that he can only fault find after a service has been completed.
