We really love our floors – We used 5mm light acacia and are really happy with how they look and their durability for the price point. It's been a couple of years and still going strong.
Would never recommend this flooring – I have smokey sycamore throughout my new home. In my opinion it has ruined my new place. The flooring looks dull and dirty all of the time. I have tried all of the recommended cleaning solutions with the same result each time (still looks awful) i have tried to get the owners of Solomon floors to help me (where i bought it) but they have been less than helpful. If anyone can help me i'd be grateful to hear from u, but i fear im just stuck with horrid flooring !! Pics attached
Delighted with the result – I was covering dated ceramic tiles so chose this blackbutt 2mm Victoria Plank. The preparation was hard work but the matt finish is really classy. Feels good under bare feet.
Great flooring - a really warm alternative to ceramic tiles! – You might be able to tell from my member pic that we are dog lovers? But - we are also professional breeders; and because we love dogs all of our dogs are inside dogs - meaning that the pet hair builds up. We originally had carpets when we bought the house - man what a nightmare! As soon as we could; we sought out alternatives, including ceramic floor tiles. But we live in a very cold region (SW Victoria); so it was not really an option to use ceramics, they would be fine in summer but too cold in winter.
So we looked at some really interesting vinyl plank-style options by a company called mFlor. The ones we eventually settled on were meant to imitate timber planks - and since we're in the country, we chose their Farmhouse pattern. Well, they're down and they look great! Really easy to clean with a vacuum cleaner and then damp mop. They were glued in place onto a cement floor; but I see that they now also have a drop-in-place tile now too.
Well - we're converts and will probably choose them again for another two rooms that we have. Go ahead and check them out.
