Placed an order that is due for a certain delivery day.. .that day comes and it's still "pending" - when you try to find a support contact they have no email and the "chat" is an AI bot that gives the "runaround" before telling you that the item is in fact on its way.. (took an hour to get to this). I'm betting it does not arrive today.

Absolute robbery. My personal Microsoft account was locked by their automated security system over a year ago, which completely blocked my access to my profile and data. Despite actively locking me out of my own account, Microsoft continued to automatically deduct $35.95 every single month for an Xbox subscription I couldn't use. Charging a… Read more

customer recurring fees for a service they have actively blocked you from accessing is a disgusting, unethical business practice. I had to get my bank to permanently block them just to stop the unauthorized theft. Faceless corporation with zero support—avoid them at all costs.

Do not order a computer direct from Microsoft. Their delivery is horribly slow, customer service almost non existent. It so much easier just to go to jb or one of the many other stores offering laptops and just get it there and then. Stay away, you’ve been warned.

Surface Pro 4 charger – My Surface Pro 4 which by the way is exceptional, one day suddenly was not charging. I called Microsoft and was on the phone for about 20 minutes. They have issued me a new charger. A short few days later the charger was delivered and it is working perfectly! Excellent customer service and product. Thank you Microsoft!

I cannot believe how many Australian consumers have been allegedly ripped off trying to get customers to take Co-Pilot. I just want a basic windows platform to make a few spreadsheets and now I am being forced to upgrade in windows or pay for extra security for my older windows software. How much money do these people need. There has to be a competitor so we can all leave Microsoft. I just want some value for money.

Claim all reasonable requests for refunds are approved. What a joke. $45 for a game that has no anti-cheat, riddled with cheaters and crashing issues. enough for these sweaty halfwits, get a tan and touch some grass you f*ckin nerds. Oh and how about hiring some local employees and not selling out to third world countries. Who KNOWS what Microsofts support number or email is?? Non-existent. Even if you find someone to talk to, they're a halfwit with brain cells that they can SOMETIMES manage to BANG together and get a little SPARK. won't stop taking money from my dead father – My father who had dementia for 2 years passed away last June. My mother and myself have tried numerous times to try to get Microsoft to stop taking money from my mothers bank account (as my dead father doesn't even have an account anymore). Firstly you can't even find a telephone number that actually gets answered by an Australian Consultant. … Read more

Secondly when I sent a complaint to them complaint no.7035049590 they immediately sent a response stating they were closing my file as it wasn't an Australian Consumer Issue. That was it even when I sent a reply stating that it indeed was as my father was an Australian and so am I. No response from Microsoft. So I went back online and got a number through the virtual store assistant that was supposedly a telephone number that would be answered by a human, yipeee I thought but no it was an American line that handled the US and Canada. Anyway it was explained to me that Microsoft would not close my fathers account as he was unable to verify the account even though I told them I had both a Death Certificate and a Cremation Certificate. Apparently the only way that Microsoft will close an account ithout verification from the account holder is if they don't get paid. They don't need permission to close the account if they aren't getting their money, but they will keep taking your money even after you are dead. This was explained to me by the above call case no: 7035240154. So unless my elderly mother who is on an aged pension and has all her banking through an account that is only in her name, not my fathers, shuts down her account and opens a new one Microsoft will just keep taking my mothers pension money. This is insane and totally unfair and until someone from Microsoft does something to actually help me I am going to repost this review every day on every review site I can find.

The entire computer industry is rotten to the core – After months of searching for a new laptop and reading literally hundreds of pages of consumer reviews on Product Review, I have not found a single computer company with even remotely acceptable credentials. The so-called expert reviews in dedicated computer magazines rarely inspired as their reports are in sharp contrast to what consumers are… Read more

experiencing, and saying. I can only speculate in that they dare not mention anything adverse for fear of losing advertising revenue. Notwithstanding that I have gone from dealer to dealer as in Harvey Norman, JB hi fi, Retravision, Good Guys, etc, without success. And then there were the specialist IT shops that were ridiculously overpriced albeit they were basically offering the same junk.

The big players in the computer industry are having a field day, fobbing off poor quality software and products while providing no recourse avenues. Service is gobsmacking atrocious, treating consumers with outright contempt while they continue to trade with impunity. Lethargy is rampant. Albeit thousands of product and service complaints, this has had zero positive impact. Their marketing and sales modus operandi amounts to nothing less than bullying tactics extending to coercion. Consumers are just not getting the service they paid for. When engaging with sales and service departments, constructive feedback is ignored, and ghosting or stonewalling rampant - they stop responding to emails and calls.

Try escalating your complaints and you won’t get past first base. At best, they will fob you off to an assistant posing as a specialist manager, floor manager or colleague who’s trained to articulately fob you off. Their CEO’s, Directors and Senior Managers are the untouchables - never seen, never heard of. Contact accessibility via phone or email is at bare minimum or nonexistent. Stupid Bots waste your time, adding to your agitation and frustration before one gets to speak to a human being - if you’re lucky. If the IT departments of the big tech companies can’t program a Bot correctly, what chance do we have? It’s like a circus without a ringmaster.

Anyone in the market for a new computer reading consumer reviews for Lenovo, Microsoft, Acer, Apple, Asus, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, etc, will quickly establish that with an average of less than 1.5 stars from thousands of reviewers, it’s a hopeless scenario. Throughout the industry, it’s hit and miss at very best. Notwithstanding a premature, untimely computer failure equates to loss of critical information, inconvenience and irretrievable financial loss.

Modern computers are unreliable, overpriced and don’t last. It makes no difference as to the price, make and model one buys - the overall risks are the same. With laptops, it’s all about lighter and thinner so they overheat. Laptops can no longer be described as laptops as these horrible devices require placement on hard surfaces for air to circulate or they’ll overheat and catch fire. Critical components of previous generations are non existent - we now need to invest in docking stations, SD card readers, external storage devices and optic drives. Adding insult to injury, our desktops are cluttered and now look like a dog’s breakfast. So much for portability - it’s a joke. SD card readers should be a standard feature on all computers as we use SD cards in our dash cams, cameras, security systems, smartphones, etc. Antivirus software, Microsoft packages, etc, is another unavoidable cost. All these add-ons almost doubles the base price of most computers. When it comes to inferior products, bad service and related financial loss, the consumer is bearing the brunt of this diabolical situation. Be assured, the thousands of man-hours lost in Government departments and businesses experiencing identical issues are being passed on to the consumer. Trying to source a reliable laptop with solid support is a lost cause. The unabashed profiteering is rife - failing that, commercial theft en mass. If ever there was a desperate, need for a Royal Commission of Inquiry, this is it.

Absolute rort – I bought a new desktop last year. It said it came with Microsoft 365 Family. I don't want that, opted out of that - got charged anyway. Microsoft the new undercover Scam artists! – I have never experienced anything like the so called help desk with Microsoft. described as incompetent. So called Engineers are assigned to your Service Request, who either don’t see the request through to the end, claim that it is ‘resolved’ when it isn’t and when you follow up to try and get a response including the case number they respond asking for the case number. Or on multiple occasions ask to make a time to call then instead of calling at the agreed time, call at all sorts of strange hours and then email to say they have been unable to contact you. Then when you do get in touch they have no idea what the issue is that was raised and ask if your issue has been resolved. Explaining the issue to date results in them repeating something back to you that is not what you said and then when you try to clarify the conversation goes no where. It is honestly ludicrous, appalling and unbelievably shocking communication. Not to mention deceiving!!! I believed I was signing up for a month by month subscription but when I went to cancel it wouldn’t let me because it was an ‘annual subscription’. That is not the option I believed I was agreeing to. They seem as untouchable as Bikie Gangs or Mafia are to Police, because by making it so hard to communicate there is no way to resolve the issue and the NSW Department of Fair Trading have so far not been able to assist. This all stems from attempting to change my business name and a nightmare that has been happening since 14th February 2023. Today is 1st June 2023, so nearly 4 months and it is all such a mess. I am loosing so much time that I could be spending on my business but can’t because I have to get this resolved. The Microsoft way is unlike any other way of providing customer service I have encountered. They are in an absolute league of their own. I’m being charged for 2 accounts, as I set up a second when they could help me change the business name in the 1st and since I thought I was paying by the month and could cancel at any time, I thought I could do the migration myself then cancel the old one. They were unable to help me with the migration or give any advice. Then when I finally got all the data off OneDrive (a beast of a problem in itself and more unresolved Service Requests), I found out they wouldn’t let me cancel because I was locked into an annual subscription and turns out it is annual with BOTH accounts. No one is able to help me and I’m ropeable!!!! I’ve got ENDLESS emails via both accounts trying to cancel them and ENDLESS dead ends. Is anyone able to tell me how I can find someone at Microsoft to actually help or are they that big now that they are getting away with daylight robbery? The unfathomable part is also that after this experience why on earth would I EVER consider getting a subscription with them again? They consider themselves so big that they don’t need to keep customers who are a minority? It’s disgusting treatment and behaviour that’s just as bad as criminal behaviour that steals and impacts innocent people with no regard or respect for humanity. HOW are they getting away with this!!

Xbox order is totally messed up – UPDATE: Can't rate zero stars or I would. As of 25 May, I can't find a way to contact a person no matter how many hours I have spent on the phone. The best I could do was click "return" for an order that has yet to ship. I did. They sent me a return label to print and I have 30 days to return an item I have not received. Ordered an Xbox series X… Read more

on 15 May 23. They were in stock and said 2-3 days for delivery. Microsoft sent an email saying it would deliver on 17 May. Status online said label created and waiting to ship. The Fedex status said they had been notified and they were awaiting delivery of the package to ship. On 25 May, status is the same. The real frustration is trying to contact customer service. A circular process that results in no way to email or talk to a person. The auto system doesn't recognize when you ask for help with customer service for a delivery. It refers you back to the link at the website and disconnects. The chat option that is supposed to exist could not be found. I searched diligently for a link. No help. No option to cancel, just return the order that has not been shipped. I would venture a guess that if I select "return" the order, they will keep a restocking fee. Why can't I get a person in a customer service role? I should have just gone shopping downtown and paid the extra to get it.

Poor Microsoft Store experience and unhelpful customer service – Spent 30mins with online customer service just trying to get a Tax Invoice. You'd think a legal requirement to provide a tax invoice would be satisfied as soon as purchase is made, but apparently you have to jump through hoops and help them troubleshoot their own system. Software companies that avoid the brick and mortar costs of in person retail stores should not be held to a lower standard for compliance with tax laws.
