Biggest waste of $ ever spent – Had since new, and yes a long time ago. But its first fault was literally day installed straight out of box. Was told back then maybe a charge as the seals dried out because not been used. Like it was literally in the box from new. Thats why its not been used. Since then it has continuously for its entire life had ongoing fault with water tank. … Read more
Today i had the pleasure of removing it and dropping in the bin. A new (different brand) will go in its place. Absolutely the most over priced over rated brand ever had. Not a single Miele item has ever not had a fault and whole kitchen and laundry is Miele. My advice. Don’t try and be loyal to a brand and $ doesn’t mean quality
Awful – I keep my machine maintained and it constantly stops working. Wouldn’t allow milk to dispense For the outrageous price I expected far more!! So disappointed Show details

Not worth the $ outlay, breakdowns, and maintenance required – We've generally been Miele fans and purchased the Miele CVA5060 coffee machine, microwave and ovens including fridges. The Miele CVA5060 coffee machine was my baby and I lovingly maintained it. Recently, I've stopped using the machine as there has been an annoying coding/electrical issue whereby the machine randomly goes through various cycles… Read more
(turns on/off, automatically rinses by itself). I contacted Miele on 28 Jun 2021 and explained the issue, with Miele basically indicating as the machine is out of warranty they're not interested in investigating the issue and passed me onto their local service rep for follow-up at my cost. Based upon Miele reputation, cost of appliances and some other similar reviews I'm disappointed at Mieles reply and are now questioning whether I could ever recommend their appliances to others.

The most defective and frustrating appliance! – I bought a Miele CVA6401 built-in coffee machine to go in our custom kitchen in 2015. I also purchased 2x Miele steam ovens, built-in microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer. Obviously I love Miele. However, I would never recommend their built-in coffee machines - it has been extremely frustrating right from the… Read more
beginning. I have had to get an appliance technician out to do repairs at lest every 6-12 months. It’s always a problem with the brew unit, o-rings, etc. And we only make 2 coffees per day on this machine! The milk doesn’t dispense or it doesn’t heat or the espresso doesn’t dispense. Drives me crazy. I’ve tried getting assistance from Miele customer service for years as it’s obviously been defective from the beginning, but they kept telling me to get a service technician out to fix it. Never offered to replace it. Now it’s out of warranty and I’m going to chuck it in the bin. I’ll never buy another one.

Miele Coffe Machine – My Miele CV 3660 built in coffee machine has had frequent faults. Usually these are caused by jammed capsules in some part of the machine. Although Miele took the trouble to design a fault code specifically for jammed capsules they unfortunately made them very difficult to remove or even find depending on where the jam is. A few months ago the… Read more
machine failed with a new code. There is no mention of this code in the manual.
The Miele service technician was efficient and found a tiny plastic part had broken but did not have a replacement.
Another service call was arranged a week or so later.
Miele rang up to cancel this appointment as the part had not arrived but said they would call immediately it came.
After 2 months with no news from Miele I called again.
I was shunted here and there with one person accusing me of cancelling the appointment that Miele themselves cancelled. Eventually another service appointment has been made for a weeks time.
I live in hope that after 3 months waiting for a small plastic part I might enjoy coffee again

The most frustrating appliance I have ever used – I have this machine in the house we purchased and although it does make a decent coffee, keeping it working is incredibly frustrating. It requires rescaling once a month and then goes into a unresponsive mode that prevents it being used for days. Other times it will wake up and start cycling though menu options by itself until it it powered… Read more
off. After which it returns to an unresponsive mode where the menu touchscreen does not work.
The current issue is that after having descaled the machine it went into the menu cycle and now asks to rerun the rescale. When prompting to clean drip tray it is not detecting that the tray has been removed and reinserted.
The expense of this machine and the cost of running, I.e about $200 per year just for descaling tablets and cleaning powered it is just not worth the money.
This machine alone has put me off ALL Miele appliances which is my recommendation to all of my friends and you too. I wouldn’t even wish this on my enemies.

Coffee machines – Similar to the disappointed folks I tried two Seco's, I had a Delongi Prima died in the first few month went for repair twice during warranty and extended warranty and failed again just outside the warranty and Delonghi did not want to hear a bar of it did not even return a promised call.
Not worth the Money – Never worked properly since we got in in 2013. Mechanic has been here 3 times. Now they want to chargs an excessive amout to fix because the machine gets stuck in the "rinse milk" mode. After making more than 3 cups of coffee you have to spend 10 mins cleaning the thing otherwise it won't work. Don't waste your money.
Looks great, Average coffee, expensive to maintain – Going through it: - Espresso; does an Ok job, on par with most automatics, no where near as good as a manual. I've got a semi-automatic delonghi that does just as good an espresso shot at less than 25% of the price - Milk/Foam: If the milk lines are immaculately clean you'll get decent foam out of it, if they've started to clog with milkstone… Read more
then you'll get hot milk instead of foam.
- Maintenance: Cleaning materials for this unit are about $60 for 100 units, you need to use a unit every day that you use milk or otherwise it will clog; even with it I've still noticed buildup. Given I usually only make 2 cups a day, thats 30c a cup just for the milk cleaner. Descaling is about $30, you'll get 3 descales out of it. Running the milk cleaner through it takes about 7 minutes.
- User interface - poorly designed for a machine this expensive. Attempts to be "intelligent" in making sure you pull the water drawer out when it tells you to fill it up (even if you know you just filled it) etc. which is fine the first time you do it, but annoying once you know what you're doing and you need to trick it into thinking you've done something rather than just letting you continue. As per the other reviews the hard stop once descaling is required is a poor design choice.
- Build quality - I've had to take it apart a couple of times to clean the milk lines (not intended to be user serviceable but I'm not spending $150 for a call out) the parts are plastic and held together with self tapping screws. This means that you've got a limited life on being able to pull it apart to access the lines before the screw threads won't hold. Disappointing considering other Miele appliances are rock solid.
Overall:
In general my semi-automatic delonghi at $750 does a much better job than this unit which I think retails for ~$3900. The cleaning materials add considerable expense to the coffee; making coffee is very quick with it, but takes a long time to clean; i.e. great if you have guests and want to pump out 6 cups quickly, but annoying if you want to make 2 cups in 30 seconds and then wait 7 minutes to clean it up. If you like your coffee go a manual grinder/machine like the Rancillio Silvia/Rocky Grinder, or a decent semi-automatic like a Delonghi (I paid $750 for mine and for making 2 coffees it takes less time to clean up, doesn't get clogged, doesn't cost money for milk cleaner and produces a better result manually frothing the milk.
Great machine – Great machine, makes really good coffee. Its very easy to use, just follow the instructions. I believe that it's worth the money as you have a barrister at your disposal 24/7. If using milk, make sure that you rinse the milk pipe work by putting water into the milk flask and running it through the system at the end of the day. If you do not… Read more
perform this, the milk tends to clog in the pipework and then you'll have to call the service technician.
If the machine is rinsed at the end of the day and instructions are followed can last for ever. Everything Milk pipe work need to be rinsed at the end of the day, it's impossible to avoid.
Absolute rubbish! – There is only one good thing about this piece of rubbish – it looks good in the kitchen. Well, maybe two – it also makes good coffee. You might ask why I'd call this rubbish when it apparently does what it is intended to do. That's just the point. It makes good coffee… when it actually works! We are now on our third machine (we installed the first… Read more
one in a new kitchen two years ago). We've had so many problems with these machines that Miele has had to replace it twice. we have formed an intimate relationship with the service man – we've heard his life story … twice. My wife has given up trying to make a milk coffee with the machine – we had to clean out the milk spout every time we used it and it was taking 10 times longer to clean up that it did to actually make a coffee in the first place. And then there's the noise. This machine is an attention seeker. It wants to be heard. It wants to be loved. Well WE DON'T LOVE YOU! Go away your recalcitrant prima donna. If I had my way we pull your guts out, put a battery in the door to drive the clock, and leaves just the facade. Then I put an ordinary coffee maker in the cavity and get just as good coffee without all the hassle. Looks good Everything else
A bit underwhelmed – Bought this machine 2 yrs ago. It was sold as being "self-cleaning". However, this was misleading as the only self-cleaning is the auto rinse cycle after each use. The 20 minute process at the end of each day, requiring use of expensive Miele cleaning agents was not something I had bargained for! As a result, I only use it if I will be making more… Read more
than 3 cups a day and have since bought a little benchtop machine for everyday use which makes much better coffee into the bargain. Another problem is the inconsistent fill level. Despite having set preferences, first cup is always short-filled and fill quantity is erratic. It is also difficult to get a really strong cup of espresso, no matter what grind setting I use. It is also very difficult to use more than one type of milk (I have a friend who is lactose intolerant and needs soy milk) - another irritating restriction on its use. I also found the auto shutdown when scaling needed was really annoying, as I could not use it again until I had purchased a new supply of scaling agent (again, an expensive Miele product!). Overall very disappointing for the money. Looks good Expensive, complicated cleaning processes, inconsistent fill levels, inflexible
We have reduced use of the machine. It keeps blocking the milk tubes and won't froth the milk.… Read more
Good – This is an easy to use appliance that makes a delicious coffee. It is built in and sits below the Miele steam oven which is the same size machine. This machine is rapidly converting me to a coffee lover(my husband wanted this appliance)It makes a delicious coffee every time and is popular with visitors. Operating and cleaning are straight forward… Read more
as instructions are given for every step. It is a bit bossy about descaling after 50 serves. Unfortunately the way my husband originally "constructed" his coffee is equivalent of several serves per cup.For example if he had one hot water to pre heat cup + 2 espressos + one hot milk = 4 serves. Maybe we can convince the machine this is really one cup but haven't worked out how yet. General cleaning is explained but the automaton tells you to fill the water container and empty the drip tray every time even if you've just done it- its a minor inconvenience to remove and replace the container to get to next step.
Love this – We have this coffee machine in our rental at the moment, we are currently building, and I have made sure that we have one in our new home! With this coffee machine teamed with lavazza coffee,,,, what more could you want to wake up too Perfect coffee everytime
