Best car I've ever owned
CF (Hatchback) GSR Manual (2015-2017)Owned nearly two years now. Brought it at 90,000 ks on clock and it's 140,000 now. Has not ever skipped a beat. Did timing belt at 100,000 and wasn't even really needed. Last service needed a new clamp on the cv boot. That's it. It's quick, it's got a ton of room in the back. Seats go flat so it's huge back there. I've carted bikes and furniture in it. Good ac. Good on gas. I will never sell this car EVER.
Purchased in for $13,700.

VRX-2.4Litre Lancer leased in March 2006
Lancer CG/CH (2002-2008)After three leased white Mitsubish Magna's, in October 2005 I ordered a white Mitsubishi VRX Lancer Wagon, [on a 4 month delivery availability] for my work as a Facilitator and entering the Port Kembla steel works 6 days a week for 16 years [yep, about 5 1/2 thousand times]......upon delivery, I had the vehicle externals Teflon coated by Wollongong Tidycar, the same as the previous two Magnas....so the weekiy was a breeze, water still beads after rinsing
The vehicle has been serviced by an ex-Mitsubishi trained technician in his own business..

Mitsubishi Lancer Ce Coupe ♥️
Lancer CE (1996-2003)Im car dealer and highly recommend these cars.
Very low maintenance and if you need to fix or replace something there's heaps of parts and it's cheap. Very good on fuel and handling. If you want reliability and low maintenance and looks this car is for you.

Very expensive part for older Mitsubishi Lancers.
Lancer CG/CH (2002-2008)To fix the ABS on my 2008 Lancer Sedan, as per warning on my dashboard lights, I was recently quoted over $2 800 by my usual service centre near my parents but as it’s too far away to be towed for free under my NRMA policy, it would cost too much. My car is 14 years old and I have been very happy with it until this happened. A few years ago, all Lancers were discontinued in Australia. Apparently having to replace the ABS system is a common problem of the older Lancers after reaching 100 000 km. Mine had below 90 000km. I travel below the averag
... Read moree 20 000 km a year, drive conservatively and have annual car services. To find out about this common problem of old Lancers and the huge expense and that Mitsubishi did not recall these Lancers to have the ABS replaced was very disappointing…. I contacted a local Mitsubishi service parts salesman, not a mechanic, and he quoted me $3500 for the part he ‘thought’ I was describing. He said that he would only supply the part to me if my car was tested and the ABS was replaced by them. The test was also over priced. Luckily I found a fair priced and competent mechanic elsewhere, who a friend goes to. He replaced the system and serviced my car. It has been running smoothly since. I am also following the advice I received online from ACCC.Purchased in .

It's a great first car/Daily Driver
CF (Sedan) Black Edition (2015-2023)I've had my lancer for 3 years, it has never let me down.
Yes, the CVT isn't overly great and small power (110 kw) isn't ideal either.
But for an everyday car that looks great, feels great, drives pretty well, I'm pretty happy.
I did change the headunit to a nice aftermarket pioneer unit, which has dramtically improved the car, both feature wise and audio wise (I like music)
Having purchased my car new from a dealer, I look after it and very rarely drive it, It has very low kilometres and is kept in the best of conditions, being one of the most clean lancers left in the world (excluding perfomance models).
There are better cars out there for the money, but if you like it, it's a great car.

Best Car I Have Ever Owned
Lancer CJ (2007-2015)Bought one of these new in 2014 and owned it for 6 years, great car and have not had a single issue with it (I have over 102,000 kms on it)
Purchased in for $18,990.

Smooth confident driving
CF (Sedan) ES Sport CVT (2015-2017)I use my car for general family use and occasional commutes to work (320km round trip)
It's big enough that my teens are comfortable, yet small enough to be economical.
The boot is a great size with a good gate, enabling reasonable sized items.
Economy is average for a 2l engine, open road driving - 850km/ tank (55l), around town 550km/tank.
Servicing is 15000km fixed price. No surprises with this car, it runs like a dream, very reliable with standard mod cons. Huge pity that Mitsubishi stopped producing these in 2017.
Purchased in at Mitsubishi Dealers for $16,500.

So bloody reliable
Lancer CJ (2007-2015)Bought second hand back in 2014 for $10.5K. my best investment ever.
Might not be the prettiest car but it sure is reliable. We have treated Lance poorly, gotten the car bogged, taken it places we probably shouldn't have and it's never let us down. Honestly, the best $10.5K I could have ever spent and I feel very loyal now to the Mitsubishi brand.
Contemplating buying a Triton for some off road adventures. But I'll keep Lance going as my city car until the bitter end!
Purchased for $10,500.

Still miss this car
Lancer CJ (2007-2015)Bought one of these new in 2014 and owned it for 5 years, great car to have for no issues with a good mix of efficiency and power from the 2.4L mivec. Great handler and a fun car to drive that was ahead of its time in looks. I think this car still looks better than a lot of new cars coming out in this segment today.

Reliable AF, good all rounder.
Lancer CJ (2007-2015)I went on a search for a second hand car with decent looks, reliability and full of extras which led me to a Lancer VRX.
I've owned one for nearly three years now ( 8 years old when I purchased it ) and it's given me no issues at all. It just keeps going and going. Lots of features , decent servicing prices, decent power and economy. Just a great all rounder.

Now at 260000km
Lancer CJ (2007-2015)this is an update - we have driven another 80000km since the last update. The Lancer has now done 260000 faultless km.
Nothing has been needed apart from tyres and maintenence oil and filter every 10k and a battery at 9 years old [about 5 years ago now]
I still say "What a great little car. Just the right balance of ride & handling power & economy" .
Road noise is a bit tyre-dependant... but what a pain free terrific, honest car!
I was , and still am, amazed they are so cheap to buy
CJ Lancer is an under-rated value proposition.
Purchased in for $11,000.

In My Mitsubishi lancer mx 1996 the neutral light won't come off and it's in park and neutral at the same time and it won't move in no more gear
Hi...I had an intermittent fault [2006 VRX Lancer wagon] with the Green indicator for Drive not displaying, the kind people for a Mitsubishi Distributor offered an estimate of $1500.00 to remove the dash & correct the fault. however declined this estimate. The vehicle was later the subject of a two passenger side front Takata Air Bag warranty replacement events, and during this dash removal to fit the replacement Air Bag.......just by chance the Drive Green indicator lamp returned function. Sorry I can't be of more help.......Derek....[about 250,000 km & still going]
I have a 2003 ce lancer that needs some Front left parts I.e. suspension and axle and a few other things, would a 1997 lancer wagon be a viable parts car for this?
I think you will find discrete dimensional differences in the drive train & suspension components between Mitsubishi Lancer 1997 to Lancer 2003 between
Are the immobilisers the same in a 1999 lancer and a 2001? Got keys from a 01 and they look exactly like my keys from the 99 was wondering if the 01’s will start my 99
