Great seller, poster was in perfect condition due to impeccable packaging. Good communication in regard to queries about the product. Trust worthy and reliable so will be purchasing again from movie mem.

I’ve been buying from John Reid for well over a decade, his professionalism is second to none. The condition of posters that I’ve purchased from him has always been on point (very accurate). His packaging is top-tier, I’ve never received a poster damaged due to poor packaging techniques, bulletproof! I’d happily recommend John Reid and can easily say I’ll be a returning customer.

Awesome as always – I have bought several posters from John over the past years. They have always been exactly as described, reasonably priced, quickly shipped and securely packaged. Highly recommend Moviemem. You can’t get a more honest seller.

Would buy again – Beautiful condition as advertised. The price was very fair also. I've bought daybills from the US, but this one was packaged the best. Great care went into the delivery and I really appreciate that.

Great quality and great service – I've made several purchases from the Moviemem site in the last few years. I bought mostly lobby cards and have found them to be reasonably priced and in the condition described. They are always well packaged for postage and arrive quickly. I will certainly be back for more.

Honest and professional, without issue – I have been a customer of John's for over a decade, and have never had an issue with any purchases. He has a truly stunning selection of posters, is very knowledgeable about the hobby and I have found him to be nothing but helpful. His attention to detail with descriptions and packing is second to none. I would not hesitate to recommend John and Moviemem to anyone who is looking to purchase authenticate movie posters.

One of the best – John is a great seller, with professional packing and posters always as described. I've bought dozens of posters from him over the years with no complaints, as has everyone else i know in Australian collecting circles. He is one of the most respected sellers in Australia, if not the world. Don't believe any `clearly false negative reviews - this guy is a totally professional and honest seller and always easy to deal with.

Bad quality posters – Owner lies about condition of posters, totally deceptive by failing to describe the honest deficiencies with his stock. Most of his inventory are generic lobby cards and daybills that you can buy 20 times cheaper on internet auction sites and any rare or desirable pieces that he does sell will have tremendous deficiencies; large holes, huge… Read more

tears - or even total panels of the poster replaced which he hides with patched-up restoration. Hard to see on the computer but obvious when face to face. That explains why he has no supersize photos on his site. The worst thing is he doesn't reveal these problems in his description and will describe almost all his posters as "condition excellent" when any poster auction house would describe them as "fair to good." You are wasting your money with this con-artist.

I have now stopped buying daybills or any Australian posters whatsoever, as that way it guarantees he will not profit from any future purchases I make (if he were to consign anything to an auction, for example) and it also lowers the demand and value of not only his stock but all dealers of Australian posters in general, which can only be a good thing.

Australian poster collectors, please stick to buying from auction houses and not dealers and you will save thousands of $$$.

Terrible quality, terribly expensive – I wish I had read the earliest review here about this so-called business called Moviemem. In fact, it seems to be the only honest review regarding this enterprise. I bought around $2000 worth of posters from this dealer. They were described as mint condition, otherwise I would never have shelled out that kind of cash. I had them appraised and… Read more

apparently all the linen-backed ones were ripped, torn, with large pieces of the art work missing and replaced, all concealed, conveniently in the linen-backing process.

When I emailed the dealer with my discovery, he feigned ignorance saying he had bought them linen backed and couldn't tell they were damaged. Yeah, right!!! 50 years in the business, and he didn't know he was selling sub-standard posters? (makes me wonder the condition and standard of the rest of his inventory) He is either very bad at his job or a crook.

I'm thinking a little from Column A and a little from Column B?

In any event, he refused to refund the posters because I had taken more than 14 days to get back to him! Well, d'uh, I had to wait for the appraisal to be done! He seems to use his so-called experience and "standing" in the movie poster world to justify his actions, no matter how under-handed they may be. Whenever I confronted him, he would use his "golden boy" status as a defence, when in fact, he is the only one I have ever heard use his name in a glowing light. And now I know why.

He is not a serious dealer of movie posters - just a tired old pensioner trying to clear out his unwanted garbage for as much as he can get out of them. I doubt he ever had much passion for movie posters other than as a platform to cheat people out of their money.

Never have I encountered such a greedy, unpleasant man, and in the movie poster world, that is saying something! The knowledge that I never have to buy from Moviemem again. Everything: loss of time, money, happiness, enjoyment - not all dealers are this bad and horrible.

Trusted dealer with great products – Incredible collection of original movie posters. Fast shipping and good prices. Couldn't be happier. I purchased around twenty posters mainly for James Bond and Indiana Jones films and they all arrived quickly in very strong packaging. The seller was very patient in answering all my questions. I highly recommend this seller.

Moviemem.com is an absolute rip-off - avoid at all costs – I could write pages on the dishonesty of the owner of Moviemem.com; sufficed to say I won't waste such energy on such a greedy dealer, other than to say he takes advantage of newbie buyers. His entire inventory comes from two American online auction houses that specialise in movie posters (I won't give their names but they won't be difficult to… Read more

google). Both auction sites have extraordinary bargains, which the owner of moviemem (and his two associated ebay stores linked to moviemem) does not pass on in savings to his customers. Granted, his prices are so outrageous that no serious poster collector would buy from him but if you are not experienced, he will pounce.

He once sold me a poster for over $3000 that he had bought in 2009 from said auction site for $300 - that's a ten times profit in only two years. Naturally, I only discovered this after I had bought it. His condition reports are also fraudulent - he will cover holes in the posters with black paper underneath so you don't see the damage until it arrives. If you question his excessive postage he will react like a madmen. Basically, he is everything I hate in a hardened dealer, which I could tolerate, if only he sold reasonably priced, good quality original posters. He doesn't.

Excessive profit mark-ups, bad quality items, expesnive postage.
