1 Kylie G.  · Utter rip off! Nothing for little kids, charged full price even though rides are closed and blatant robbery just to take a picture.Head to Dreamworld instead!
1 Melanie T.  · Overpriced with huge lines and wait times for rides and shows. There really should be a cap on the amount of people admitted to the park each day!
1 Lisa  · Very disappointing, hardly any rides open and massive lines on the few that were. All that is left to do is browse the very over priced stores
1 Chris thatcher  · Crap Queensland theme parks – Waste of money and time don't bother with sea world movie world or wet and wild. Dreamworld is the place to go.
2 Alan Brown  · Nor worth the money – Most rides and attraction closed. Still charge full prce. However retail and all food outlets open.
1 Peter L.  · Long boring queuing! – Wait times qre extreme. 2hrs+ for popular rides. Avoid school holidays!

Huge lines at rides meant a long and boring wait time of almost two hours..:meaning we could only get a few rides in( and very frustrating standing in line) Only one car operating at first, then after many hours they put extra ones on.Felt ripped off as priority customers jumped the cue. Not what we expected for a supposedly top class theme park we d travelled 4,000 kms to go to.

Very disappointing visit. The food offerings in the park were ok although over priced. There are limited ‘family’ rides. The long wait times of an hour or more are not with the end result. Many of the rides are aging. There is a ride with a ‘laser’ gun target component. Three of the Four guns we had worked. There were only two rides suitable for… Read more

our tweens. The other ride had a 90min wait. After the disappointment of the first ride we didnt want to wait in line for 90min for the other ride. Most of the park is dead. Its basically ‘main street’ and roller coaster rides. There are a few ‘stunt’ acts that occur in the main street area. You only can take photos with costumed characters if you pay. Way back when the park first opened there were film location tours and many more family activities and free selfies with characters. Definitely not a location for a fun day out and definitely not worth the money.

What a disappointment. Many rides not running, the ones that were you had to spend over an hour in the heat waiting for without any apologies. Go to dream world instead, don't waste your money here

Beautiful day in the GC and we spent half of it at Movie World, Total waste of money and time! Most of the ride CLOSED FOR MAINTENANCE apparently, with no notice by staff at the gate on arrival or online when booking tickets. Maybe a discounted rate on tickets if the park can not provide, Very very disappointing day and would NOT recommend this park or your time while on holidays, there is so much more to spend money on while at the Gold Coast!

Went to Movie World today (29/7/25) Green lantern, Scooby doo coaster, wild west, Kansas' twister, Yosemite railroad, Roxy 4D experience along with many shops ALL CLOSED! Waste of time. Long queues on the few rides that were working, we will never go again.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY – We travelled from Tasmania to go do the theme park experience booked on line in the morning saying there is Maintance to one ride that would be closed arrived after 10am to find there was one ride open only. To top it off we went into looney tunes for kids and our 4 year old was too short by a hair so they didn’t allow him access to most of the… Read more

What a waste – Most rides are being upgraded but they don't tell you that when you buy a ticket for $150 to get in. Absolutely disappointing would not recommend it

We have not been to Movieworld for about 8 years and I wish we hadn't bothered we stayed for probably 2 hours, not much rides were opened and staff were really bored, the place looks tired and it is ridiculous to pay the amount of money to get in when there is nothing much to do. 4 adult rides opened and no kids rides opened - just terrible.

Follow-up  · Food is expensive Parking was easy, theres lots of parking available No kids rides were available and just 2 rides available

One year on and still no response — it’s your move, Warner Bros. ———————————————————————— Horrible – No words could describe the depths of despair I felt during my waste of time at this mockery of a theme park , It cost me half a weeks wage just so… Read more

me and my wife could attend , I felt like I had been robbed. $400 just so we could enter fair enough , I can let that slide because I expected a good day out , if only that was the case , they have 5-6 semi decent rides apparently however unfortunately they were all shut for maintenance except 2 , I wish I had known that before I had spent an additional $400 so I could have fast pass, they didn’t update the maintenance schedule so we had no ideas , so far I’m down $800 and there were only two rides open and we haven’t even got on our first ride yet, so as we made our way through an ocean of inconsiderate and arrogant human beings all travelling to the one singular ride in the hopes it my provide us with some satisfaction , we lined up for 2 hours from the moment the park opened standing there like a packet of sweaty sardines inching our way forward like a crippled tortoise at full speed, as we got near to the front seeing the light at the end of the tunnel we heard a voice shouting from the top of her lungs SORRY GUYS THE RIDE IS NOW SHUT FOR MAINTENANCE. So far so good , I’ll try to be optimistic in the situation , we decided to get lunch and come up with a new plan of attack , so as we wandered down the park I was gobsmacked at the ridiculously over priced garbage they were selling as food $12 dollars for a singular Weiny $25 dollars for a slurpee and 7 cheesy Doritos Like seriously who came up this nonsense , Anyway we then proceeded to the 4D movie , obviously we waited another hour due to the fact the lines were stretched as far as the eye could see , I swear I saw tumbleweed roll away in the distance as we slowly made our way down the line, my only source of entertainment for the day was farting as the line moved watching the innocent by standards screw their face in horror scanning the crowd for the culprit and casting blame with profanities using racism and preconceived notion as their source of accusation , but on this day I never see a more committed group in my life , they endured until end .I tried to weed out the weak but they stayed strong Anyways we finally got to our first ride ( a 4D trailer ) and yet again I was met with an unparalleled feeling of disappointment similar to the passing away of my nan , my temu quality glasses snapped halfway through the movie nevertheless i soldiered on , to put it in perspective I could have replicated the same thing at home with my wife by sneezing on her in parts of the movie and giving her a tickle , at least then against all odds I might some action , All in all shocking experience we haven't yet been on a singular ride and it was now 2 o’clock , so we decided to call it a day , I hope your experience is better than ours , I’m sure only a couple of rides will be broken down not all of them

Follow-up  · One year on and still no response — which honestly tracks with the overall level of service. On the day, a grand total of two rides were operating. Both managed to break down while we were in line, which felt less like bad luck and more like performance art. No warnings, no updated maintenance schedule, and definitely no proactive communication —… Read more

We have just visited Movie world & we were very disappointed especially with the amount of money that you pay for entry. Many of the rides were shut & the stunt show was closed. This is the first time we have taken our son who is 5 & he wasn't impressed either. Barely any characters & some you have to pay $25 just to take a photo. When we went 11… Read more

yrs ago it was so much better and more to do. We paid over $300 dollars just to get in. Kids under 5 shouldn't be paying $100 if anything should be half price for them. Its ridiculous. We are from Victoria on holidays at Gold Coast & we were so look forward to taking our son but it was a big flop. Money down the drain how disappointing.

Many rides closed, leading to extended wait times for the remained rides. We waiting for an hour for one of the few major rides still open, only to have an extra 30 minute delay due to some issues. Park feels old and tired with extremely long wait times.

We traveled from the bottom of NSW to take our kids to movie world for the first time, we paid $129 each for 3 adults, $119 each for 2 kids it was an utter ripoff! Half of the ride were shut and games they had there for kids had to pay, Extremely disappointing even my kids were disappointed. If we knew half of the ride were going to be shut we would have went elsewhere. Movie World you need to do better especially on school holidays!

We travelled from WA and bought Movie World tickets, which were already expensive. Because it was a weekend, we also paid an extra $100 per ticket for Fast Passes, expecting the kids could use the fast lane on rides multiple times throughout the day. for only one ride each, not unlimited as we had assumed. This was disappointing given the extra cost. I hope everyone checks the reviews before purchasing tickets, unfortunately we did not and it was disappointing for the amount of money we paid.

Normally I don’t write reviews but I feel that I should after being at Movie World. Money down the drain. Only half the rides are going. Spent a lot on airfare to get there from Tasmania for my daughter’s birthday and now I feel cheated and angry at the same time. Please take my advice and don’t go if you’re travelling here for the theme park.

Good rides but the wait times are too long. Should have two coasters going on the hyper coaster. They are very slow to get people off and on. Merch and food is unsurprisingly expensive and they do need more thrill rides. The kids are bored of it and the stunt show is embarrassing. This place is in a rapid decline and their customer service matches the park.

I visited the park on the 11th July. We arrived at 10am and kids were full of excitement. We anticipated some lengthy wait times for rides, but had no idea how bad it would be. Movie World clearly doesn't restrict the number of guests, and with the park only open from 10am - 5pm, you have a limited time inside. The first ride the DC Hyper coaster… Read more

at 10.10am there was a 1.5 hr wait. By then all rides had an hour - 1.5 hr wait. We managed to get to see the stunt show. The worst thing, is Movie World offers fast passes for $179 which guarantees 8 rides ( only once) after paying $630 for tickets I wasn't going to spend another $900. The food is terrible and overpriced and the park doesn't allow you to take food in. It is absolute highway robbery. I live in Sydney and now realise what good value Luna Park is. You can buy discounted tickets at $58 and the park is open from 11am - 10pm so plenty of time to get around. I have written to management at Movie world, but of course received no response. Unless you are a local and have a yearly pass, or take your kids out of school to attend, there is absolutely no way you should go to Movie World. Cost me a small fortune and the kids got on 4 rides.

Entered at 10am sharp. Only two rides working today at this stage. Uncertain wait times so left by 10:30am. After being there for a full day only two days before and only getting in 4 rides waiting for hours at a time for superman escapes and the hyper coaster it is just not worth attending these theme parks.

The park was mostly closed and we were only informed that we couldn’t refund a fast track after the ride was closed, poor effort of the staff to do anything 2 staff members were particularly rude towards our group and refused to give us any estimate on how “short” shortly was for the ride repair overall would not consider returning like I have in the past

Visited Warner Bros. Movie World on 10th July 2025 with my wife and three kids. We paid $675 for tickets and were genuinely excited — but that excitement faded quickly. As soon as we entered, it was clear the park was overcrowded. Yes, it was school holiday season, but the wait times were excessive. Most of the kids' rides had lines over an hour… Read more

long, sometimes even more. We spent most of our day in the Kids Fun Zone, and despite hours of waiting, our children only managed to get on 3 or 4 rides.

Later, I queued up for the DC Rivals HyperCoaster, which was listed online as a 120-minute wait — but I’m certain it was even longer. After waiting an hour and a half and only reaching halfway through the line, a staff member announced there were technical issues with no estimated time for resolution. In the end, I had to give up — exhausted and frustrated.

For $675, we expected much more. I don't feel we got value for money, and I genuinely question how ticket sales are being managed during peak periods.

To the management, here are a few concerns:

Value for Money: Do you believe guests are receiving fair value during high-demand days?

Ticket Sales Management: Are there any limits on ticket sales to ensure guests can actually enjoy the rides?

Service Guarantees: What measures are in place to ensure a minimum level of experience and ride access?

I understand that crowds are part of the experience and that technical issues can happen. But peak season should not mean poor service. I hope serious changes are made so that other families don’t leave feeling as disappointed as we did

One of the worst theme parks I’ve been to. The Wicked Witch ride mysteriously has a technical issue every day (usually just before 5 oclock) workers are inefficient and ride lines take forever.

Super disappointing, the whole western area closed, the 2 biggest roller coasters closed, 4 kids rides closed. Overpriced, half the park was closed, food was dry and poor quality, wait times were average to long with poor signing, staff were mostly good but at times confusing with poor direction and control of lines, and the characters were mostly lacklustre with the exception of Shaggy whose interaction was decent. Overall, do not recommend the park and won't be back. Recommend Dreamworld as a superior experience.

It has been 6 years since I had been to movie world and I was disappointed. Not what I remembered, the park just seemed so lackluster. Staff seemed unhappy and bored. know where to enter for the rides. The park has lost its magic. The rides are still fun but outside of the rides, the park is dull. Needs someone to get in there and rebuild the magic. We entered at opening time and just no special feels anymore.

This park was amazing great for kids and adults of all ages! We had the most fun time on all the roller coasters green lanton was one of the best! All the kids rides were a lot of fun as well!! The food was great though i do recomend setting prices lower on food and toys.

We were screamed at by one of the workers for walking straight to the front of the line and not through the poles even though we were the only ones in there lining up, I had no idea at the start what was going on, teach your employees better communication skills let alone four rides were closed and the drink stations what a bad experience and waste of time attending

barely any interaction with the characters. Kids bored out of their brains because of the zero interaction from characters. No fun, just line ups. BOOOOORING.. money grab park only now.

Absolutely a money making park, poor people visiting for only a day. This is a rip off. We had the full 7 hours and only 3 rides?? We could not even purchase the fast track tickets as they were sold out. We haven't explored a quarter of the park. Will not be back again. Stand in queue park ,not a theme park.
