A Big No for Poly Water Tanks – Poly Water Tanks were contacted regarding purchasing 2 x 25,000-litre poly tanks, these were to be used to capture overflow from our existing water tank. I sought advice on the height of the overflow outlet, Poly Water Tanks confirmed it was 2260mm height overflow outlet, however upon installation of the two tanks, the actual height of the… Read more
overflow for the tanks was found to be 2370mm. The outcome is these tanks are useless to me, cannot be connected to my existing water storage supply and I am down $5800, money I am not in a financial position to waste. I was very clear in my communication and even sent them a clear diagram seeking confirmation of the height of the overflow outlet, and they were similarly clear in confirming that the 25,000l Poly Water Tank had a 2260mm outlet height. They have no clue about the product they sell and blamed the CAD drawings for the error, and also said others were having similar issues, yet it appears they continued to provide customers with erroneous information. Poly Water Tanks advised they would remove the tanks, provided they were placed where they were delivered. I live on a rural property, and this would require four burly blokes to push them up a 45-degree incline. Human resources is something I do not have access to in a rural area. This would also require pumping the existing water out of the tanks which was put in them to hold them stable, given we have very gusty winds as we live on the top of a hill. I do not own a water pump for this purpose so another added expense. They also suggested drilling a hole lower down in the tank, a pointless exercise and I wanted the larger capacity, otherwise, I would have purchased 2 x 22,500-litre tanks. Their final hoorah was to suggest putting in a bilge pump, between the existing tank and their tanks. This would require laying power for 150 metres, something they went silent on, and also useless, as you generally lose power when there is a storm, so the transfer would be inoperative, and the excess water would risk damaging and stressing my existing tank. Unlike Tank World, Poly Tanks simply dump the tank and run, whereas Tank World help you move the tanks to their final location and install the outlet taps. With Poly Tanks, you are left to your own devices to move, install and connect the outlets. Communication is non-existent with Poly Water Tanks. We were given no warning when the tanks would be delivered, it was only after I enquired on a Wednesday for the delivery date, that I was informed they were coming on the Friday. I had to hastily get the site prep finished by a company, at a huge extra cost, to be ready for the delivery. So it is off to NCAT now, this hopeless company is one to give a very, very wide berth, they cannot be trusted and it has cost me a small fortune.
Not happy with these tanks – Tanks were supplied new and they were faded from brand new. I spoke to them and they said they were only made 1 month ago. They had a sticker on the tank written on in felt pen you could hardly see the writing on the sticker anymore. Poly Industries asked me for the batch number on the tank so they could tell me exactly when it was made . I never… Read more
heard from them again I left messages on there facebook page they never answered me again. Then I noticed the tanks bulging in the middle of the tank so I contacted them and the assured me there was noting wrong with the tanks. I have looked at other tanks none of them do this. The design of the tanks a terrible they get leaves and twigs get stuck on the top of them and it cant get of with the wind because of the way the tanks is made. I had my chance again I would not buy these tanks again.
Complete crap – absolute rubbish, apparently cracking and fading is acceptable, the manufacturers couldn't give a stuff, and as for holding the volume as advertised, this does not ring true as they lower the overflow level to stop the roof from cracking, apparently lowering the overflow height takes pressure off the roof and helps the cracking stop, until the… Read more
warranty expires that is, save your money, run far and run fast before you consider purchasing one of these dodgy tanks
Excellent – Delivery driver knew what he was doing and realy helpful. Good little aussie company originally from Bundaberg now nationwide. I believe they where the first plastic tank maker in Australia and are now the biggest. I have recomended them to my friends and have not heard anthing bad. They are tough water tanks, the ones at Bunnings looked like they… Read more
would burst if if I bumped into it. They have been around forever. I actually wanted a 5000L slim tank but the guy reckons that many 5000L slim tanks have split and 5000L is 5 tons. 3000L is the biggest a slim line should be.I ended up getting 2x 3000L round tanks side by side and it was cheaper then a slim tank but had the same slim effect I was after.
