Netcomm NF5 N300 WiFi Gigabit Router

No problems after 5 years use – I use this router with my TPG NBN fibre to the premises 100/40 Mbps connection. We have three TVs each with Netflix and internet (two TVs connected wireless, one ethernet cable to router) plus desktop PC ethernet wired to modem and all tablets/phones wirelessly. This modem copes and have never experienced any buffering on Netflix or catch up TV. This inside a 120 M2 apartment with concrete internal walls between router in hallway and all rooms. When I speed test the NBN connection I am consistently getting 96 to 121 Mpbs even during peak evening times. I understand others may not experience such luxury speed with fibre to the node or still on ADSL but this modem copes very well.
Excellent modem – I bought this for my TPG NBN connection. Works perfectly with 4 wired connections and up to 32 wireless connections according to the modem, but you can limit this to any number you like (good for preventing unauthorized wireless access).
Lacking in the WiFi area – I bought this modem to use with my NBN 100/40mbps connection, and it does a good job of relaying that connection to my wired devices, but the modem lacks a 5GHz WiFi frequency option, which severely limits the speed you will get whilst connected via WiFi. I was quite disappointed about the lack of frequency options, and I plan on replacing it some time in future.
Great router – Using my Netcomm NF5 for my NBN connection has been great. Easy to plug into the NBN box and provides 4 ethernet ports for devices in my home. Can also connect via Wifi and i have plugged in a USB memory stick to allow us to share documents across a home wifi network. Reliable and easy to set up.
