Extremely misleading subscription charge — refund refused on the same day My experience with NewMindStart was extremely disappointing and, in my opinion, highly misleading. I paid for what I understood to be promotional courses priced at US$1 each. The checkout process led me to believe I was making a simple one-time purchase for individual… Read more

courses. One week later, I was charged US$39 for a subscription that I do not believe was clearly and prominently disclosed before payment.

This is completely unacceptable. If a company is going to charge customers a recurring subscription fee, that information should be obvious, clear, and impossible to miss before the customer enters payment details. In my case, I would never have completed the purchase if I had known I would be charged US$39 shortly afterwards.

My account showed individual courses in my library, which reinforced my understanding that I had purchased standalone courses, not signed up for a paid membership.

I contacted NewMindStart on the same day the US$39 charge was taken, requesting an immediate cancellation and refund. Despite raising the issue straight away and explaining that I did not knowingly authorize a recurring subscription, my refund request was refused.

In my opinion, basic ethics, transparency, and good-faith customer service were not present in this process. A fair and ethical company should make subscription terms extremely clear before charging customers and should take responsibility when a customer reports the issue immediately.

Based on my experience, I would strongly warn other customers to be extremely careful before entering card details on this website. Read every line carefully, take screenshots, and check whether you are being enrolled into a subscription. I feel misled, frustrated, and very disappointed by the way this payment was handled.

Beware: app cancelation is made impossible on purpose. They have made it impossible to cancel their $39 / month app subscription. They lure you with a $0 piece of content that is very affordable to then try to charge you $40 per month until you have to chase their customer service to make sure they cancel your subscription. It's almost a scam and very difficult to come out of it . I had to cancel my card to stop the payments. Show details

Be careful: app cancelation is made impossible on purpose This company has good content but very dodgy business practices. They make it impossible to cancel to their $40 / month app subscription. Essentially, they lure you with a $1 piece of content that is very affordable to then try to charge you $40 per month until you have to hound their… Read more

Seems to be good content, but heads up: unsubscribing is a bit of a marathon. You have to confirm via email even after doing it on the site, or it won't stick. Just a fair warning for everyone! P.S. never use your active credit card or email/phone number for this! Very similar to eDreams service that still is alive, unfortunately...

Avoid unless you want to be signed up to something you never wanted and charged $128 for it! Wish I'd read the previous review before signing up to a short $28 course for my kid. Absolutely deplorable business model in terms of charges

Thought i was purchasing what i thought looked like a fun online course, but e have known better with the FB grifter mode and it was not a one off payment but ended up being their unlimited plan. There is no quit option in the subscription management you have to email them. Low life. Shame on me for thinking it was legit. $30 has now turned into $130. Grifters avoid
