Just a cr#p website. No real news just click bait articles. And if you try to leave a comment that doesn't fit with their lefty morals, good luck. Probably the worst place to go for news. This is a disgusting platform. They people writing this news really have the IQ of a 1 year old. This is not real news.

As a non English native speaker, when I was a kid, we used to learn the English language by reading newspaper / news articles. I have been a loyal reader of News.com.au on daily basis for as long as I can remember. Sadly, I have also witnessed a gradual decline in English grammar and increase in spelling errors over time. These errors affect the… Read more

credibility of the writer and the publisher.

Just went there today and saw two on the front page in two headline stories, one on war and another on absence of a F1 team to compete at the 2026 Australian grand prix, which prompted me to speak up about it. Looks like quality check stops at machine spell check. No proof-reading was done. Really sad. Perhaps, machine / AI will get better over time and does this too..

I can understand poor quality photos because they capture the moment, especially for news. Not writing though unless one is quoting what someone said. Do better please News.com.au. I want to believe News.com.au is a reputed free news outlet, one that inspires confidence. I guess it is still an ok outlet for news albeit all the errors.

News.com.au too often blurs the line between news and opinion. Instead of just reporting the facts, many headlines and articles use loaded or dramatic wording to push readers towards a certain view. That makes it feel more like clickbait than proper journalism. Comment moderation also seems selective, which only adds to the sense that open discussion is not really welcome. News should inform people, not steer them.

Standard biased and censored "news" site. When you have dimwits like E.W, and M MadAgain posting celebrity tripe, it's always a guaranteed let down. They also have their own planted "bots" in their comments section, but they are too thick to recognise that the comments they leave on their own comment sections, are that out of the line of general… Read more

consensus, that they stand out like a sore thumb.

Anyone that comments on there will realise that users like Cec R, Chook, and a few others are fake accounts they use to comment to create nonsense in their sections.

Cmon, have some tact!

Very rarely your comments will be posted unless they brown nose the progressive and the current Labor government anything else minority group related.

One of the worst news websites in Australia!! Biased, controlling and censorship overload. When you make a comment, they will squash it if they don't like the sentiment or what you said. Not only that, their news stories are all fluff and bubble. There is a reason why the access is for free, because no one would pay for their drivel!!

Follow-up  · Still one of the worst news websites. They have a comments section only on certain news articles which THEY control/censor. A VERY biased and unbalanced news site. There is a plethora of better news sites on the internet!!

The Weekend Australia is really annoying in its layout. Every section has half an article on it's front page that refers you to a page elsewhere. That's typical Murdoch. I can sort of understand the merit of doing this as an eye catcher cut why on say the Business section????? You have already bought the bloody thing . Really bugs me !

Follow-up  · It gets worse ! This last Weekend Australian Business section has no less than EIGHT articles starting on the front page (Page 25 ) and those continue on a further 7 separate pages within the section.

To call this Australia's leading website is deceptive. Grammar that a 5 year old could surpass, now they want you to remove your ad blocker so you can "enjoy the good bits". Their advertising has gone beyond intrusive and annoying.

Follow-up  · No change. As bad as it has always been.

It used to be a trusted and reliable site, worth paying for many, many years ago, but now its a focus on sensational, clickbait headlines, lifestyle fluff (like diet trends, influencer drama) over hard news, heavy reliance on social media content, perceived bias, and intrusive ads, leading to complaints about low-quality journalism, lack of depth,… Read more

and being more like a supermarket tabloid than a serious news source.

I mainly contains clickbait & sensationalism: Headlines often create hype (e.g., "Falling behind, I'm a dog," "Diabolical," "Nude pics") that doesn't match the article's substance, leading to reader frustration. It has poor quality journalism, with words like "garbage," "trash," or "thought vomit," come to mind with articles lacking depth or relying on trivial content. It focuses far too much on trivialities with content often centers on influencers, diet trends, or viral social media posts rather than significant national or international events. Often the source material is lifted directly from social media (like Facebook mum groups) without proper credit or context.

Sometimes I just want to browse to get a quick update on the world. News.com.au just seems too simple and really bland. I used to access it more often, maybe a couple of times a week just to get opposing views or quick snapshots of current events. Seems to lag behind current hot topics and now incorporates more Temu like ads that blare out at you… Read more

even in the quietest moments. There are too many other more accurate and in depth news sources out there to tolerate all the temu and p*rn like pop ups just to read one article. Don't compromise your personal security preferences for this lack luster news site.

I'm sorry to say but this news outlet is rather lacking ethics and quite arguably unfit to operate as such. It frequently makes use of misleading article descriptions and it's quite concerning how they also sensationalise their news at times to the point that they even sexualise people even for non-sexual things. People really don't deserve to be… Read more

sexualised simply for being attractive if their actual private parts are well-covered and they aren't doing anything actually sexual. Their attractiveness can really be described without the sexualisation. It honestly seems like this news outlet even validates sexualised harassment rather than being against it. Really poor ethics and should quite arguably not be operating.

Do the editors at this dreadful news site think we, like them, have all become that desensitised to the terrible things that happen to people that we're happy to open a news website and the first thing we see, on loop, is a tourist being trampled by an elephant, or a man be hit by a car on a freeway, to mention but two I've seen over this past… Read more

week without even clicking into the news item - it was the top news item facing me as soon as I opened the web page. Horrific scenes without prior warning what you're about to see - which is what used to be displayed. Whenever I read something on this website, which I'm unlikely to do any longer, I always wonder about the people who choose to work there. I'd say it's a hellish place.

Surprised to see "editors" article using "uncontracted" throughout a story instead of "uncontacted". I often see the English language butchered online, with some stories not making sense.

Wow how this news site has declined into a left wing news center... I guess it started back when they got rid of being able to comment on articles. Just read Daniela Elser - Elon Musk article 03/04/25 and many many more.....
