NGK Spark Plugs BKR6E-11
MPN: BKR6E-111 review
Standard Copper Core – Suitable replacement for OEM plugs from NGK for Denso in my case, for my Honda Jazz 1.3lt Auto. You can pay as much as you like and purchase iridium or platinum at up to $28 each, but with 8 plugs required, I opted for the cheaper alternative. Fitting was easy for the front four (facing the radiator), taking about an hour, the rear four was another question. The throttle cable stay, and ignition wiring had to be released first, then the removal of the coil packs, and spark plugs from the restricted spaces had to be negotiated. Specialist tools requiring 3/8" drive sockets 10mm and 12 mm with short extensions, and a 1/2" with a slim plug socket and 100mm extension and universal joint. Another 2.5 hours needed. Removing the old plugs was strange....It felt cross threaded, but not so. It was just the plugs were hanging onto the alloy head despite the engine being warm. A little light oil (no more than a drop) on the thread of the new plugs made insertion a breeze. Finger tight, then half turn, ensuring the finger tight the plug is in fact seated. The car started immediately, and felt just like when it was new...17 years ago! The plug numbers mean something. I believe the number "6" relates to the heat range of the plug, and the number 11 is the gap width. For me, I chose the 6 for a cooler running plug. the standard is 7 or 8. Couldn't be happier as these NGK plugs are a quality item from a long standing quality manufacturer. Bought off an local eBay seller $44 delivered for 8 plugs.
