DX Fish eye – The Nikkor 10.5 mm Fisheye lens is a bit of an odd ball. It was one of the first lenses released for DX, and also the first fixed focal length lens for DX, beating the 35 mm 1.8 by several years. It has a focal length roughly equivalent to a 16 mm fish-eye for the 135 format and consequently has a huge depth of field. This is useful for getting right up close to subjects and still having the background in focus. This does present another issue however, which is that you can get dust on the front of the lens and on the sensor appearing in your photographs. Interesting fish-eye view, good build quality Huge depth of field shows the dust, distortion
Excellent – This is an excellent fast F2.8 fisheye lens for Nikon DX compatible cameras. The field of view is amazing and quite surprising for a lens of this size. The minimum focus distance enables very close-up photography. I am glad I bought mine. The only issue I have with it is I cannot use it on FX or 35mm film cameras but I bought it knowing that. There is a small (read VERY small) amount of chromatic aberration on the far edges of high contrast images. Not enough to worry about though. Small and compact.
Inbuilt lens shade Only compatible with DX digital cameras.
