Absolute rubbish, used once for charging mobile phones, kept device charged, went to jump start a car and was dead. Put it on charge, wouldn't accept any charge, just an expensive paper weight now. Show details

Spent a lot of time ensuring product I settled on COULD start a completely flat battery—as in no ignition lights, can only unlock the doors manually (some jumpers can't I'm assured, they need SOME voltage). Had the GB40 (which says it can) recommended as adequate (I'd previously been offered a pack that would strain my back and pocket but start a… Read more

Lancaster bomber). After a quick charge and read of the instructions, much to my pessimistic expectation (of uselessness) it fired up my apparently dead-batteried 2.4L Honda in an instant And, even more convincingly, five times in quick succession because I couldn't remember the key/fob/lock sequence to turn off the car's deafening alarm, which comes on immediately you connect the booster. So, so far so good. Nice looking product, everything you need in the box, clear instructions, does the job (at least five times). Good price too (160AUD). I can't help but think those who say it doesn't work just haven't read the clear and simple instructions.

No Good – Brought a Noco Genius. It's cooked two batteries already.Had a look on some forums and everyone seems to have the same experience. I wouldn't buy this product! Show details

High fault chance after warranty period – I bought a couple of these. The first one broke down and refuses to start even on full charge. The second one is intermittent, just have pray that it eventually starts. They both were fine for the first 2 years and I've had to use it maybe 5 times in total. Sadly both out of warranty. Too bad too, they weren't that bad compared to other brands, but being so unreliable after 2 years has deterred me from buying it again.

Fails to start my car – This failed to start my 3.0L CRD diesel engine (Nissan Patrol), even with 100% charge. Didn't even look like it was doing something except lighting up the dashboard indicators. Thankfully I was home and not in the middle of nowhere. Show details

Not liking this product – I've purchased a GB40 about a year and a half ago I tried to jump start a 4 cylinder car the first time and just yesterday a Ford Ranger . Not once did this unit even look like working . Hoping they have a good warrant system . Just waiting in NOCO customer service email reply. Might go back to the good old jumper leads . Show details

GB40 Great Quality Product – I purchased the unit about a week ago. Charged the GB40 unit with the USB cable that was supplied. After that I connected the unit to my Car that was sitting around with a flat battery. Started the car with no problems. The package and quality of the product would be one of the best quality products that I have. Show details

Best of it's kind – I've had this for a couple of years now. It's been used about 15 times and never failed, including getting me home from Sydney when the battery in my vehicle failed and I had to jump it at every stop. Show details

Great thing – Have had it for 3 months and has seemingly attracted people with flat batteries, lol. Biggest was 4.2 Land Cruiser. It struggled, but got it going. It's only rated for 3l diesel and the cruiser had enough to engage the starter, but not turn over so not totally flat. Still didn't need to overide safety feature Apart from that, and the people and… Read more

family members it's helped, I've disconnected the batteries on my 5T excavator, bobcat, tractor and 115 etec outboard just for the fun/ test and it has managed to start all of them in over ride mode, not easily, but managed to. All motors were cold i should add. Some sucked almost all the power from it, with the batteries removed but jump starting a xtrail, hilux, 3l patrol in normal flat battery conditions had no effect on making it drop below the green power level indicator. Strangely charging a phone will drop it to about 50% Torch has been very handy at times. Unless you use a good phone type 240v charger it will take for ever to charge. It does but just takes ages. Am I happy with it? Is the Pope a catholic? Does a bear S*** in the woods? Yes. Have purchased another six for my immediate family members

Did not start my vehicle – Hi, this NOCO GB40 12V 1000A Lithium Jump Starter did not start my 3D Hillux, low millage, not old batter in it, just left lights on it and the next morning needed a jump. It turned the engine 3 times and very slowly 1 or 2 more. THAT'S all. So I'm not sure why people don't post that it does not work? I returned to the seller Frankies Auto… Read more

Electrics, paid another 15 doll. s/h and a month and half later they keep quiet, no money refund either, What a crap. Lost almost 200 doll on it. Please, buy regular jump starter for your vehicle.

Big punch for a small size – I wanted something to carry on my motorcycle as an emergency jumpstarter when touring but also wanted enough grunt to do the car too. After a bit of research I settled on the Noco GB40. It's not as compact some of the other units, but it makes up for it by not needing an extra box attached to the cables as everything is built in (I assume… Read more

this box has some smarts that warn about connecting the clamps to the wrong terminal).

I've had the GB40 over a year now and everything is working perfectly. On one charge over a 2-month period I've started the ride-on mower twice, a 2004 Toyota Kluger with a completely dead battery three times and then used it as a torch during a black out. The leds indicate it's still at 100% capacity. I was sceptical about some of the claims of all compact jump-starter units but seeing it for myself has changed my mind.

A couple of things I don't like; the size of the clamps and the storage bag. The clamps are made for bigger batteries than my bike so it will be a challenge to get them to fit and they're bulky for storing. I realise it's not designed for a bike (the GB20 is for bikes and smaller cars), that's me being precious ;-). The bag is like a sock with a draw-string so it'll keep everything together but it's far from an elegant solution.

Overall I'm very happy with the GB40. Time will tell if it retains it's ability to perform as well as it does now.

A solid looking unit – Today I purchased the Noco GB40. It looks like a very well made unit, very solidly built and good looking. I may not have to use it for years, so I am hoping that it also lasts for many years to come. I really don’t know what the life of this unit is, I don’t know how long it will last. I have been searching the internet for more than a week… Read more

now to find the best jump starter, and I came up with the Noco GB40. I just hope that I chose the right one. Only time will tell.

Great handy jump starter – I've been looking for a decent and handy jump starter over melbourne. At first I got a jump starter with air compressor from supercheap store, found out it's too hard to store in my little HONDA hatch-back car. Then I found this NOCO from ebay. It's easy, handy, affordable price.
