Norco storm 1 2021 – -Very dangerous -Crank came off, sent me flying -Impossible to contact norco Australia -Bike shop where I purchased said warranty repair not until February -Bike shop had 10 returns same issue -How is this bike not Re-called ?
When a bike outperforms basic needs...now a perfect bikepacking horse with drop bars 1! – Did purchase that bike, STORM 9.2, at the local bike shop (Canada) after surveying the entire market and all the brands for a good M.O.R. (miidle of the road) bike 29'' wheels and with strait handlebars (big difference for me 'cause I'm a road cyclist). At first, all the big brands and their "flashy" features popped to my eyes. But after dust being on the ground, it seems obvious that the best bang for the buck was in this bike: aluminium frame, front and rear disc brakes, Schwalbe tire, Altus derailleur (not the best but it does the job good, frame is stiff, handling feels goods, low gear is okay for steep climbing, top gear okay for fast road riding, fork would gain from a little bit more absorption, but this bike is not made for mountain jumping, seat is perfect to me. Bottom line, the Norco Storm9 is not made for competition, but it sure competes hard the other brands in this category. If you are in a need for a really good versatile bike, 50% road and 50% trail, that is a good pick.
Biking is a big thing here, so this is not my first Norco bike, because the products of that company seem to always be a bit ahead the rest of the platoon, quality and price point wise: I did purchase Norco CRD1, Cabot, VFR4, and this STORM 9.2.
PRO : pricing, overall quality, components, frame, good looking, grip, seat and grouppo
CON : Front schock with more absorption
