Very poor experience, don't choose NORTON

Greedy company, hard to get a refund. Once I got one they Charged my account again. This company is continually trying to upsell you...very annoying. Show details

Unethical and dodgy practices at Norton, needs regulatory intervention

Bought an Anti-virus, already paid for it and, to use it they are asking to enter the credit card details for renewal. If you do not enter the billing details for renewal you cannot use the product you have already paid for! After reading other reviews it appears they are basically preying on people. Not sure how a company with such unethical practices is allowed to operate!! Show details

Removed unauthorised funds from my account and after three years, STILL no refund!!

I wish I'd read the other reviews first.
More of the same. Was double charged for a subscription, and more than three years later am still chasing up a refund. They have agreed that they owe me one, just haven't processed it, and are IMPOSSIBLE to contact. And it took me two years of emails to get them to even agree that they double charged me - all the while they continued to double charge me!!!
I thought they were a reputable company, but seriously I think they are the ones we need protecting from! Show details

Use something else

Purchased a 5 subscription pack in March 2023. Only used 2 of the subscriptions. Paid $45 for the pack. They have just auto renewed 5 weeks before it expires without any advance notice for $190. I received the email for the receipt after the renewal. The software is super annoying with constant pop up ads for purchasing extra options for things the software used to include. Called and asked for a refund. Have now deleted my bank details as I don't trust them to not try again to renew. Show details

unethical company, go elsewhere !

Norton barely works, and all options are either at further co$t and/or hidden inside websites.

I cannot now access the ( alleged) option to switch-off their 'automatic annual subscription renewal function' but had been able to previously for several years !

Similarly, accessing your own backup media option is totally obscured & hidden in favor of their extra co$t options ( try scroll down ! ) .

If you are happy with their service, I recommend that after you pay by credit card (.... Norton always retain your card details !!), you have your bank issue you a new credit card WITH NEW NUMBERS their auto-renewal will not work and be unavailable to them...... HAHAHA. Show details

Norton 360 is linked to scam services

I bought Norton 360, and as I was installing it on my new Macbook, a sign popped up asking for a helper tool password. When I asked for help, the support algorithm directed me to "JustAnswer", which is a scam site, that asks for your credit card details and charges you $66 monthly from what I read in their reviews. I was charged this unbeknown to me and there is no way to unsubscribe. Thanks so lot, Norton!!! Show details

Be careful with automatic subscription

As far as the product goes it seemed to stop viruses etc. My issue is with the automatic subscription renewal, they charged my expired credit card and I was charged for another year when I intentionally didn’t update my details because I didn’t want to renew. I was given a refund after I had a lot of trouble finding a way to contact support on their website. I also bought an extra feature last year that helps to clean up the computer and get faster processing speed, but I was unable to use it because I couldn’t contact the department that activates it. The number just rang out or cut off and I gave up in the end. I decided to go with another antivirus company that’s easier to use and get help with. Show details

Automatic renewal subscription not authorized and refused refund

Only wanted to use Norton 360 for 1 year as the first year is affordable. Was unaware that they sneakily have your account automatically set to renew annually without your knowledge. I tried calling them in regards to a 30-Day refund they offer once payment goes through, but their poor excuse at refusing my refund was because it was purchased through Google Play instead of their website. I am now forced to contact my bank in regards to disputing the transaction and charging the amount back which has been frustrating. Show details

Norton Antivirus

I have cancelled my subscription for good. They have become the grand phishers of the anti virus world - everything they offer is at extra cost when the annual charge is so high that the features should all be included. Auto renewal cost is much higher than for a new user so you have loyalty tax at its worst.

Do not sign up! they auto renew subscription and its impossible to cancel

After 1 year the subscription was renewed at almost double the price of original fee. You have 60 days to request a refund, however trying to get this refund is liking pulling your teeth out with plyers. Took me hours and navigating their contact support which was no help, ended up finding the solution through a REDDIT where you will see thousands of other customers who have had the same problem. This is a money making company who dont care about their customers. Show details

Been using nortons ever since they came out.
Will not be renewing. To many bugs and it seems to disable itself leaving your PC un protected.

I paid for the deluxe version and it says I need to renew my standard version but I have the box it came in and clearly states I bought the deluxe version.

They seem desperate for up selling. Company might be in financial problems with all the up selling.


What other options are available besides Norton (preferably with no auto-renew)? Thank you.


IS there a physical Australian postal address where I can send a complaint to Norton? A post office box would do.
