1 ana  · Unauthorised withdrawal from my account and denied refund. Customer service is useless and unhelpful.
1 No longer a stihl fan  · Thinks everything is malware and locks it in quarantine. Would love the option to install anyways but yeah uninstalled and not having any issues now
1 Chris A.  · I admire their business model, reminds me of the Hamburgler
1 Jay  · Customer service is butt they don't talk to you constantly double charging, live chat doesn't work, phone call with automated bot.
1 manu  · Sick and tired of their spamming their upgrades. Due to Trump and his deranged demands I'm dumping the US owned Norton for Japanese owned Trend Micro

This used to be a good product and worth the higher cost, but now so many services are add on subscriptions for stuff that used to be included. Their auto renewal tries to charge you a full month and a half before the renewal date just to make sure they get you before you can remember and cancel. Plus it makes everything run so much slower. I have been using Norton for the last 20 years and will not be renewing. Show details

HORRENDOUS! is the word that comes to mind. This antivirus is a complete and utter nuisance from the first minute it was activated. It turned me off to have had it on my devices because of the constant harassment texts and emails trying to upsell their crappy services but most importantly, it stuffed everything up and waisted my energy! It was a… Read more

bad decision to consider Norton and they deserve to fold miserably! I turned and requested full refund from this heavy upsell at Harvey Norman where I purchased this bull-sh%t product and finally got it after insisting thank goodness. I recommend ESET where it’s a much better product for half the cost and eset doesn't splash their branding all over the place including the emails but most importantly it also did not work properly and the apps were constantly yapping a bunch of useless crappy texts about how effective it’s working which it did not! It’s totally insane that this product is acceptable to consumers! It should kept it out of Australia and stay in trumpland where it belongs.

Support in word not practice – I have been getting nowhere with a fault I reported weeks ago. Follow ups on chat were less than useless, so the last three days I've tried phoning. Attached in the screen grab of the average of my support experience! I hung up all three time. Wow, they can spell the word support but have absolutely no idea what it means! That's what you get for cheap, barely trained labor. Show details

Biggest scammer – Be careful with this scam, they always try to steal money from my bank account. Even though I called them to cancel my subscription, they still tried to get my money. This is the worst company I have ever seen. Never get their product again. Shame on them. Show details

Norton Virus Checker Not Ever Again – It probably does the job but is annoying as hell and lately, I get a lot of DANGEROUS WEB SITE messages, including one for my own WEB Page! When I check the 'status' of my WEB page it lists it as Phishing site; (the fraudulent practice of sending emails or other messages purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to… Read more

reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.)

Yes, not once have I EVER sent an email from this domain or is there anything other on this site than links to my Amazon books!

I reported this for Nortons review, but they have not done anything in over a week. I am losing sales, promoting my book site to the world. Why should NORTON CARE?

UPDATE 12 July 2024 Contacted Norton about the false positive using their specially for this issue designated page and in a month of requesting, no action. I am no longer using Norton, or will ever again.

Dodgy customer service – Appalling customer service. They have a 60-day money back guarantee and when I asked for my money back on the first day, Kamlesh, the customer service representative, kept pushing and pushing me. He said, "the best I can do is a 40% refund". Absolute nonsense! Their policy states full refund within 60 days, so please watch these guys. They're absolutely dodgy and a rort. Show details

Better value out there, and better support – Originally bought a Norton Core at a trade show which Norton decided to retire and no longer support so was offered a deal to transition to Norton 360. It auto renews by default. I thoroughly recommend you never leave the auto renew status as active as Nortons cares NOTHING for existing customers with all marketing aimed at roping in new… Read more

customers. If you dont, you will be hit with the maximum recommended retail price which for me is currently $250 for 1 year. I found a better deal online for the same product but their online support (their phone support is impossible to navigate) are limited and cannot match their deals you can buy from a retailer. So they keep lowballing you with pathetic counter offers falling well short of matching the price and when you tell them you found a legitimate cheaper price with legitimate Norton reseller way cheaper than what they are offering you to stay, and they offer only 2 years whilst I can get 3 years subscription from a retailer and save, they tell you that if your choose to take that offering you have to completely uninstall the program, lose all your settings and install it from scratch. Worse they tell you that you have to pay again and your refund from auto renewal takes as long as it takes to hit your account again. A totally unethical way to run a business. How can I trust them to protect me from scammers when I feel like they are doing that to me? Particularly as their 360 product seems to be basic, i am forever getting notifications telling me about vulnerabilities they discovered only to discover they are not covered by 360 and I have to pay hundreds more to be fully protected. 50 here, 80 there, it is never ending and I think they forget their end users are not business or enterprise but mums and dads and kids. Families, with tight budgets. They don’t improve their product, they just create different product lines at premium pricing to do what their competitors deliver for less. There are better products out there that offer this for less. And are just as reputable, shop around.

spending a significant amount of time navigating the automated phone system they informed me they could not cancel the account as it was in someone else's name despite the charge being made on my credit card, which is clearly in my name. This explanation is unacceptable. The only way I could resolve the issue was to pay the current charge and cancel the credit card to prevent further charges. This was a complete failure to address my issue. This is not a viable solution and demonstrates a complete failure to address my issue. I believe this is a serious breach of customer service and business practice. They should have given me a full refund, cancelled my account and removed my credit card information from their system to prevent further unauthorized charges.

A frustrating product that identifies and blocks espon printer drivers as being a threat. This prevents all printing on a windows 11 computer. This causes lots of frustration for elderly users. If I can give a review to Norton, I hope I can give it a -10. It is not about their product, it is about how they force people to renew with them. I had previously declined Norton's online offer to subscribe for another year and bought it cheaper at OfficeWorks, which I did again recently. A friend inspected the packaging… Read more

and found some small print about payments which was too small for me to read. I attempted to type my key again to be told it was no longer valid even though I had not completed the installation on the first occasion. So I am locked out of using it. Apparently their method now is to add unspecified charges over time. Nortons is a scam. Officeworks refunded me.

Why do they have like 6 different apps for similar services? Why not combine all the features into one app? Why have so much pushy upselling it’s just annoying. It’s so expensive for what it is compared to competitors and the features don’t work like they’re meant to anyway. Total waste of money. Show details

The anti-virus part Norton 360 is ok. BUT the "free" VPN function is now complete rubbish. Used to be good, but now continually drops the internet connection and, then after a while, reconnects. This means the user has to re-login the website being used (it is time consuming and frustrating to have to reenter username, password and second factor… Read more

authentication). Impossible to say why this is happening now. Maybe, Norton has sold more licenses than its servers/routers can handle, or the recent version of the software has a major defect. Dropouts happening every 10 to 20 minutes is completely unacceptable. I suggest you but another cheaper antivirus solution and buy a stand-alone VPN like Nord (there are a number of good ones)

1 star is too many. I was having Bluetooth and USB driver issues. Tried to update through Windows 11 settings, said it was all up to date. Weird, as Norton said 5 drivers were out of date. Windows was the default, and now it detected a whole bunch of drivers needed updates. Also the memory usage of Norton had adversely reacted to several of my games, and had about 5 crashes in a single day due to memory overload. Ignore all the "Influencers" saying that Norton is good, S tier or reliable, as they are actively paid to say so. Just use your brains and dont click sketchy links, and run Windows defender at least once a week if you daily use it, or monthly if seldom usage. It works significantly better than most people gibe it credit

I know I have done this before, but they are STILL DOING IT - but this year it was worse. Here we go again – I would give zero if that were allowed. Basically a repeat of my last review, but SAME THING happens EVERY YEAR; so want to repeat/remind Norton that this is STILL extortion, and fraudulent. BUT THIS YEAR IT IS WORSE!!!!!! Renew balloon… Read more

in the past locked you into "auto renew" in a years time for 3 times the price. So go to product page and buy, but STILL only option is "auto renew in a year." NO OTHER OPTION.

They stick by their "that's ok, agree, then contact and cancel." The WHOLE POINT of agreeing to terms and conditions is that "you agree/abide by T & C's". To tell people "just agree, then contact and cancel" DEFEATS THE WHOLE PURPOSE.

How do large corporations get away with/operate like this? Doesn't ANYONE regulate this?

But this year it was WORSE. I noticed that there was $104.99 taken from Paypal account. By Norton. Mine doesn't expire for another two weeks. WHY didn't I get a warning? Well, it appears the auto renew that I spent half a day last year arguing about/getting cancelled, was "reset to auto renew" WITHOUT me knowing.

It took me AGES last year to "undo auto renew", but hey, why should consumers have rights???? So last year I FINALLY get the auto renew in a years time cancelled. LIKE I HAVE TO DO EVERY YEAR. And they overide it = take my money anyway. Why even bother???

Everyone likes and uses their anti virus. So, how do you make the best anti virus bad/alienate customers? Use a fraudulent "auto renew you MUST agree to (but can then go back on agreement/terminate/ change)".

It is NOT good business, can't be legal.

ACC/Consumer affairs/AFP = where are you?????

Anyway, I get on chat. They argue and argue, refund me $21 (5%) and say "there you go/keep you as a customer = bye!!" and cut off the chat.

So I have to go back and explain it all again. I FINALLY get a person, they FINALLY cancel the renewal.

Guy says "Is there anything we can do to keep you as a customer??" I say "CANCEL THE AUTO RENEWAL!!!!!!!!!!" He assures me they will. Like they have EVERY YEAR. And then totally IGNORED IT - auto renew ANYWAY.

Bye bye Norton. I will now use ANY OTHER ANTI VIRUS BUT NORTON - just on principle

Absolutely hopeless. One star rating is one too many but zero stars are not an option.I cancelled my subscription after they renewed it without contacting me first. They acknowledged it as cancelled however 2 weeks later & still no refund. Zero customer service, their website goes in circles, the automated phone system "is getting used to understanding humans" so no viable means of contact. Not just poor but very poor business management.
