NUFFIN Fetta & Cracked Pepper Dip

Noble Sentiment with Packaging, but Terrible Product – I purchased Nuffin Fetta and Cracked Pepper dip from my local Aldi store. I admit to not reading the nutritional information on the packaging, having been somewhat distracted by the packaging itself. You see, this company prides itself on not using plastic in their packaging. In fact the packaging is essentially paper/cardboard and is compostable.

Unfortunately, having packaging that is good for the planet is one thing, having a product that I simply could not eat is another thing entirely. In short, this dip is too salty, to the point where I wonder if they even did a taste test on human beings.

I get that fetta cheese is salty by nature but the nutritional information suggests that they added more salt for good measure. 100g (half a tub) of this dip contains 835mg of Sodium, just 85mg less than the top end of the acceptable intake for an adult (according to Better Health Victoria.) Basically, that means no other salt intake for the rest of the day...

People with hypertension should avoid this product at all costs. People who don't want their taste buds assaulted should do likewise.
