Old El Paso

Awful. The new "richer and tastier" recipe is just like pure tomato paste. It's too sweet, won't pour or drizzle. Tastes just like a blob of plain tomato paste. Our family has loved the original recipe for years, but we all hate the new recipe. Very disappointing. Bring back the original OEP Taco Sauce please!

Jumbo Taco kit is now 3 times the price and the tacos are very thin and break, so they cannot sustain the fillings so a waste of what dish was all about. Very disappointing I will not be purchasing this brand again.

Taco shells are ALWAYS stale!! It really ruins the whole dinner, and embarrassing if you have guests. Biggest rip off ever. With only the stale shells and 2 tiny sauce packets, $8.50 is just the biggest rort ever. I will not be buying them again.

Not only has the Taco sauce been reinvented to the detriment, I suspect that the Guacamole Spice Mix has also been mucked around with. It is now far too 'Limey'. I used to love this stuff on Avocados, but from here on in I'll give it a miss

How disappointing, bought the Family size Taco kit, the Taco’s have become so thin it’s useless using them the way they were meant to be used as soon as you hold them they crumble, what has become of this County company’s are taking advantage of the buyer, used the Aldi brand and they at least are nowhere as thin as the Old Paso. Update: Coles Mexican Sauce has the same consistency as the Old El Paso sauce used to have. It only comes in mild, unfortunately, but it is a decent replacement for the Old El Paso sauce and is cheaper.

Long time (years) fan. Would never think of using another brand. We actually thought the seasoning was bad we threw theentire meal in the trash. Then we had tacos again and the same thing. No longer purchase these products.

Extremely disappointed in the new taco sauce, the old flavour was amazing. I can’t buy this anymore, I can’t believe people agreed to produce this horrible product & replace the old one. I’ve thrown it in the bin.

The new version of Old Elpaso taco sauce is hideous. All I can taste is fillers that take away the flavour and mouthweateringness of the sauce. Please just bring back the original.

Old El Paso Taco Shells are absolute rubbish now...they are half the thickness of what they used to be...for comparison they used to be as thick a Dorrito corn chip, now as thin as a potato chip or thinner...NOW half the thickness, they cannot even hold taco ingredients without disintergrating they are so thin...SHAME ON THE COMPANY...STILL THE SAME PRICE though

I agree with all the other consumer’s comments - the new version of Old El Paso taco sauce is revolting. Please return to the original recipe. I did not have an issue with paying the high price for the original product (compared to other sauces in Old El Paso range) but I will no longer waste my money on this new version. Such a shame.

tomatoes, actually taste like tomatoes, you've managed to not even do that. Like it is inedible. Please, just bring back the old recipe. Like it is bad, bad.

I bought this yesterday for my footy nachos as I always tip the hot one over the cheese.. I opened it and I was like what the hell is this? Maybe they had mixed it up and put the salsa in this jar. Researched and nope they changed it. Taste and consistency ruined my nachos. If they go back to the old recipe ill buy again. If they keep this nope.

This sauce is such a dud that Woolworths have got it on sale for ½ price. In the 30 years I’ve been buying this sauce it has rarely been on special let alone ½ price. The new recipe is so awful it’s practically inedible. I simply don’t understand why such a successful product has been changed. Big fail El Paso.

The original Old El Paso (OEP) taco sauce was gold, I should of stockpiled during covid like toilet paper. Why change it? Who's idea was this? They didnt ask the OEP. consumer thats for sure. These people that making decisions like this need to be accountable.

Well just to note to say that the crunchy corn shell size has shrunk is an understatement. My husband is 6.3 , 220lb fireman. We always had taco Tuesdays. This new shell size wouldn’t fill a child let alone fill his crew. Cheap!!!!

I actually purchased 2 jars of taco sauce as I usually do. After opening one jar and trying to ‘spoon’ it onto my taco (drizzle) it wouldn’t. I turned the jar completely upside down and shook the $h!t out of the jar but still nothing came out. I thought there was something wrong with that jar as it was NOTHING like the original product so I threw it out and opened the second jar I purchased - only to discover it was exactly the same. It’s no longer a sauce by sheer definition of the word. A jar of Lego’s tomato paste is more like a sauce than this rubbish. It tastes like watered down tomato paste even though it now resembles the consistency of Clag glue. I can’t believe that 6 months have passed, there is not one positive review or comment online about this new change, no one is purchasing it and Old El Paso STILL have no plans to return to the original recipe despite the fact they state on their website that they are, “…actively listening to their customers..”. Well, they may be listening but they are certainly not ACTING on what their customers are begging - to bring back the original. I mean we’re really doing your work for you - we seem to be putting more effort into trying to keep our brand alive and relevant than what you guys are. (Old El Paso). When I now make the conscious decision not to buy your taco sauce it’s not just the sauce. I’m also not buying your taco shells, seasoning mix, salsa and all your other taco products that are required for the weekly tradition of ‘taco night’ - along with many other people that have reached out to Old El Paso and have been ignored. The company seems to be asleep at the wheel when it comes to customer satisfaction. I’m sure it was a cost cutting exercise to change the recipe which seems to have backfired dramatically based on all the online feedback.
