Oliso Pro Smart Iron Questions & Answers
My olisopro does not get hot. I have turned on and off several times ,still no go. I have tried with sole bars up and down Any suggestion?
Sorry no idea
My cat knocked my oliso off of the ironing board. Now the feet won't retract. There is a noise like it is trying to do something and the light is blinking. Any ideas? I only used distilled water in it. So I don't have the same problem as Rors1308. I think maybe something moved or broke inside. Just want to try all the self help before sending off for an expensive repair.
Not an answer but the exact same problem. Anyone got a solution?
This iron is designed to be used with regular tap water. If your water is over 12 grams of hardness, recommend using either inexpensive bottled spring water or mixing half tap water with half distilled water. NEVER USE 100% DISTILLED WATER as this can cause the iron to split & leak
Can't use it if the feet are extended.
Had my oliso for about 3 years has never been knocked over or dropped but has the same problem as Linda. The iron makes a terrible noise when the feet are trying to drop down. If the little slide at back is moved to the left the noise stops but it can only be used as an ordinary iron that is stand it up. You have to turn it off first then back on.
I bought this iron almost 3yrs ago. Started having problems end of last yr. Leaving brown spots on my husband's white chef jackets. Wasn't pressing as well as I'd expected.then leaving white chalk everywhere suspect it's calcification but had cleaned it a couple of times according to manufactures instructions. Walking into quilting studio today to find it had leaked water, brown, all over my woolen ironing mat. Not happy at all. To expensive for this. 1 ⭐
try cleaning using white vinegar and distilled water and steam it through. I never leave water in an iron and do not put water in my Oliso. I follow the advice of quilter Jean Truelove and use a spray water bottle. Mine is still going strong after years.
Thanks Ortega. I have done the vinegar and have decided not to put water in anymore. My mother said water and electricity don't mix.. :D Funny her iron lasted forever.
Maybe she never turned it on and only added water
Everyone wants to be a clown!
the feet are stuck in the up position and wont move . it makes a grinding noise as its trying to release. ive tried the on off button but to no avail. Any help?
Same thing happened to my iron. It was not steaming properly either at the time. Although not recommended by manufacturer, I put a cleaning solution into the tank, well, I had nothing to lose, the iron was not working anyway. Two applications of cleaning solution and a pile of grit spitting out of the steam holes which was a considerable amount of rubbish that came out of the steam holes also. Once the tank had been cleaned and the sole plate done with sole cleaning stick and a paracetemol tablet which cleans sole plates magically the iron gradually came back to life, steaming away and jumping up and down on it's feet. It is now as good as when I bought it 5 years ago. All working beautifully.Try it, you have nothing to lose.
what kind of cleaning solution did you use??? vinegar??? This iron is only 2 years old...and I love the up down' feature but don't want to buy another one if this problem is common....
