Not bad for a "never heard of" !! – Received an Olivon 3-9X40 "Tracker" model in a new package deal with a CZ 455 back in May '17. Bought the package from a large gunshop ... and yet the staff had never heard of Olivon scopes before. Neither had I!!! SO - I was more than a little keen to have a good look at it. So - here's the deal ... the scope is pretty well stock standard, in matte black aluminium with a 25MM diameter. The raised adjustment turrets have lightweight, oversize, well knurled caps that are easy to grip and hard to lose due to their size. Adjustments are easily made without tools, and are said to be in increments of 1/4" @ 100 yards. Unfortunately I didn't think to do a "walk test" about the target ... so I can't comment on how accurate and repeatable the settings may be.

However it was exceptionally easy to get the outfit shooting straight .... and we've never moved the settings since. The rifle has fired roughly 3000 shots in the 3 months we've had it.

There is a removable rubber ring at the eye end of the ocular lens housing to help cushion damage from hard kicking setups. The only disappointment I have been able to identify on this scope is the lack of a decent dioptre adjustment. These have been pretty well standard in the scope world for a fair while now .... so that's a bit of a downer. To adjust for dioptre setting one has to loosen the occular housing's securing nut and either loosen or tighten the entire housing until you get the sharpness your visual acuity needs. We haven't done it this way for quite a while!!!

Power settings are smoothly achieved ... even by our ten year old, with the broad anodised, deeply knurled power ring just in front of the ocular.

I'm not sure whether the model is nitrogen filled, but I can say that we've had no fogging issues to date. Country of origin appears to be China, and the packaging pretty well reflected this. However, having said that, the product itself is tastefully done, and easy on the eye.

Clarity is well beyond expectations for what seems a bargain basement priced scope, and there is no fuzzing about the edges of the picture - even at maximum power ... normally a hallmark of a "cheapie". Really - it's an absolute breeze to use ..... what more is there to say!!

Cheap and reliable – I have got 3 of these. I have one on a Tikka 243, I have put 100 rounds through it and have never had to readjust it. I have one on a 17 hmr that shoots 5 cci TNT rounds the size of a $2 coin at 100 metres every time. I have one on a CZ 22lr, It is way over power for the 50 metres i shoot it at as it makes target acquisition difficult. I don't go past 8x with it after I zeroed it but at $160.00 a pop and a 3 year warranty who cares?
