Omega hot plate – First one we brought one of the elements was so far off its centre the electrician said to send it back as was dangerous took a month to get a new one now this one only work on three elements so sending it back the problem we have now is the $ 3,000 bench top has been cut to fit so we are stuck trying to get another not happy actually really annoyed a new one had better work Regards Glen
Disappointed and frustrated. Ruined tonights pasta – We have had our cooktop for just over a year. It is easy to clean and looks nice but the positives stop there. Quite frequently it turns itself off when in use then cant be turned back on for some time. Tonight it couldn’t be turned back on at all so we had to finish cooking our dinner on a camp stove. The touch buttons get so hot that they are… Read more
dangerous. We are very disappointed with this product. Our previous cooktop lasted over ten years and we only replaced because of an unsafe crack. I cant wait to hey rid of this one. Will never buy Omega again.
Not impressed – Burnt my finger turning the thing off! We recently purchased the new cook top changing over from a cooktop with the plastic buttons on the side. After using only the back right ring I attempted to turn off using the power button and the button had become so hot it instantly burnt my finger, causing it to blister ☹️
Did not last – We bought this cook top a little more than 2 years ago. But did not install for a few months. So we have been using it for less than 2 years and it has not been good. The last few months it has chosen to work, then not work. Buttons are not sensing finger presses. Not impressed that it doesnt last more than 18 months.
Very Poor customer service – Rear element used only 5-6 times in 2 years just blew out. 2 year warranty had lapsed by 3 weeks. Informed Omega but not even a hello back. Asked if we could split cost i.e. send me the part and I will get it fitted, still no luck. Seems they want negative feedback rather than helping with customer service inquire's.
Not the best choice – My cooktop does work, but I am unhappy with it. The hotplates take AGES to heat up. The cooktop is sensitive to anything left on it, starts flashing F and beeps for AGES and there seems no way of turning it of till it decides to stop. The instructions aren't that helpful. I just checked something I left cooking and the hotplate had turned itself… Read more
off and just said "H" for hot. I wasn't able to turn it on no matter what buttons I pressed, til the "H" went away. Most annoying. There must be better cooktops than this.
Omega Cooktop OCC64TZ – We purchased an Omega Cooktop in November [ OCC54TZ ] and it was installed in a new kitchen in late January . It worked two times . Department of Fair Trading said it should be replaced or money refunded . Omega [ Shriro ] refused and had a technician replace a part . It has worked about three times then stopped . I have put a written complaint to Fair Trading . Do not buy an Omega Product .
Good function, unlucky, service is WA is flawed – Second ceramic cook top, first lasted 15 years, dead electronics. We saw an Omega cooktop used in a camper's kitchen at a caravan park and thought that would have to be tough enough for us. Install is easy, controls and features worked well. Unfortunately, our failed after 4 months, power to the display, but no output to the elements. … Read more
Contacting Omega, they direct us to an external service provider in Perth. The service provider had no stock of the electronic board, ordered, recieved the wrong board, noted there was no stock in Australia and it would take another 2 weeks, this was after a 3 week process. On contacting Omega, they provided an all new cooktop from their warehouse in Perth, and the service provider installed, about 4 weeks from the original failure.
Overall, the above is not unusual from WA, and is generally accepted. Few brands hold much parts in WA or do their own service. I do not view the defective product as necessarily a quality issue, all companies have such situations from time to time. Hopefully, is say a year, I can update this review with a stronger opinion of the quality.
Stylish and easy to use – This is my second ceramic cooktop but certainly the best. I chose this touch control model because the sales lady told me that the model with knobs would have the cooking plates set too close together and cleaning would be more difficult. She was right. This model with touch control at the front of the unit is a breeze to clean and the hot plates… Read more
are set far enough apart to take large frypans and saucepans.
The glass is Shott Ceran which is very durable and any spills just wipe off. Omega does not supply a scraper for cleaning,, but I found it is not necessary as spills do not stick if cleaned off straight away. I use a 3 in 1 cleaner from the Supermarket which does a great job and the hot plates always look new.
I can recommend this product and it was great value for money just $419.00 from Harvey Norman at Noarlunga There is no need to pay huge prices for brand names when the Omega product does the job with ease.
