Onga Dominator 75/56 Submersible Pump
1 review
Dominator 75/56 Sub Pressure Pump – We purchased the pump more than 2 years ago to transfer water from our dam into water tank and for a drip irrigation of more than 300 metres. The pump was only switched on when needed in spring and summer on a fortnightly basis on average. In other words, the pump wasn’t used that often. Just out of warranty (…) the pump broke down and started to trigger the safety switch. According to the local service agent the pump was beyond repair.
I contacted the head office for support and a replacement under warranty. This was during the hottest month of the year. We had to hand-water (>900 litres) from our water tanks for more than 1 week until we contacted a local supplier of other pumps.
The Onga/Pentair warranty department didn’t reply within a week, so I followed up and got told that they would not replace the pump because it should only be used in water tanks. There is nothing smart about the pump and it therefore seems to destroy itself easily.
We spent more than $700 on the pump with a RRP of above $1,000. The actual value of the components (motor, housing and plastic) will be less than $200. It is therefore also completely overpriced.
The experience has been more than disappointing (product and service) and I therefore cannot recommend this pump or the business Onga/Pentair to anybody. Never, never again.
