Hi, David, I have no idea,my PS979 went straight to the dump, I could not get it to do anything, no drivers, no instructions, no go . I stopped being miserly & bought an Epson V600 with absolutely excellent results... & learned the hard way. Good luck with your PS979 ( I did write a negative review)..PK
Well I have looked all all of the comments have found this scanner was quite up to the job and was more than Appleseed with all results prints film and slides it is not expensive you pay 2-3 times more for the all bangs and whistles photo Scanners this unit is right in in the market at the right price

The instructions are impossible to follow.
Look like a storage device is required but what type or can I use the storage from my camera and fiddle about with it that way???
