This is my third Ottai CGM used so far, it provides a blood sugar readings every 5 mins for 14 days without finger pricks. It is a small coin size sensor, way smaller than Dexcom G7 and about similar size as Freestyle libre 3, that I placed it under my arm. The app to display the glucose level is absulately amazing, best glucose monitoring UI I used so far. I found the voice activity log really useful, enabling fast meals, medicine or exercise log. The accuracy, on the other hand is accurate after first 1-2 days and becoming more accurate as you keep wearing it. On average, +- 0.4 mmol/L compared with BGM. The super healful things is it shows me in real time how different foods affect my blood sugar, so I’ve learned to cut down on things that cause big spikes. I’ve found better substitutes and now I can enjoy meals without worrying as much. Overall, Ottai makes managing diabetes much easier and healp me build healther habits. Also consider the price is the cheapest I can find, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. The knowledge you gain is genuinely valuable.

Follow-up  · The application was fast and barely noticeable, and it installed easily. The adhesive works great on me. It sticks well during moderate weight training.

Purchased in for $58.

The Ottai CGM is used to provide a continuous measure of blood sugar levels over a 14 day period. It works a small painless disk attached to your underarm and through bluetooth connection relays blood glucose information to an app on my phone. It gives lots of detail but unfortunately I have found it to report lower levels of my blood glucose by 2 mmol/L when compared with a finger prick device. While this is a drawback the Ottai is quite consistently inaccurate. It is about half the price of the Libre 2 system as there are deals online selling it for around $54 Au. The good thing is I find it quite motivational in understanding how different foods impact on my blood glucose levels. For example I have almost cut out boiled rice as it really causes a sugar spike for me. I have also been able to find substitute foods that reduce blood sugar spikes. It also helps with weight management and impacts of exercise.

Overall the Ottai is a useful tool to monitor my diet and because it is still quite expensive I only use it to help bring my wayward eating habits under control.

Give it a go. The knowledge you gain could change your life.
