Ovela VacTight Vacuum Storage Containers

Agreed, great concept but thecontainers are poorly made – The clear containers are not strong enough for the suction of the vacuum - even after seven pumps to dent the little rubber buble the containers were breaking eithercracking on the sides or on the base of the units. The lids remained strong but the containers appeared to be just too brittle. I will send my containers back and get some replacements and give them another go.
Great concept, seals wells but plastic cracks! – I've got two sets of these and I love the large round cylinders, they work really well, hold crackers and such and do seem to keep freshness longer. The pumps are effective and there is a small bubble pressure indicator on the lids. Sadly the small square plastic containers "crazy" crack and start to leak particularly if you thermally stress them (hot food or microwaving) so most went in the bin after one use. If they sold just the round vertical containers as a set or singularly I'd actually get more.
Cracked lids and containers – The first lot I recieved the lids cracked around the suction port. The containers were replaced . Recieved the new lot and after a week one containers side had fractured and I was using there auto extraction pump. Seems like a bad design falt. Still waiting to hear from Kogan. August 30th 2016 Update: Re Ovela containers Reported obout Ovela vacuum containers at the beginning of the year that I bought from Kogan. Kogan replaced with a new lot at no charge,
All was well for about 2 mths when the same problem happened a crack in the lid I threw it out, then about a month later I heard a loud noise from our fridge it was one of the containers shattering in our fridge soup everywhere! A warning do not get these containers they are not Safe.
Everything I put into them is cold not hot, this is the second replacment from Kogan and now there in the bin I Do Not Trust Them.
The product looks great but the containers are No GOOD.
Don't waist your money.
Good concept, but poorly made – September 2015 — These vacuum storage containers from Kogan are a good idea, in principle. Excluding oxygen from a container does lengthen storage life. You use a little supplied hand pump to extract the air from the containers. However, we were able to crack the lids without too much effort. Kogan confirmed that this has happened to other customers too.
My advice is to wait at least 6 months until they get a new batch. By then, this problem may be fixed by making stronger lids.
