Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinners

Disappointed – Well, what a disappointment. I thought this product was to dry the salads etc. It spins so slowly, that I had to resort to paper toweling. Silly me. I should have read the reviews. I will return it !!!

Don't waste your money – This item spins, and it removes water, but it doesn't remove ENOUGH water. A salad spinner should leave your lettuce leaves almost dry: this one most certainly doesn't. I'm back to my old manual spinner until I can find one that really does work. It simply isn't good enough to be able to pump the central handle up and down, nor even stop the spinning action with a brake: nothing is meaningful if the intended purpose isn't achieved. size It doesn't remove enough water

A disappointment after its predecessor – I coveted my mum's Oxo Salad Spinner for years before she kindly bought me one. Unfortunately, she decided to splash out and pay for the "premium" version with the clear lid and that's where it all went wrong. The old version of the Oxo Salad Spinner (my mum's) is now no longer available in Australia, it seems. It had a white, opaque lid and it spun salad dry with little effort.

The new version has a clear lid and a bigger price tag, but for some reason it just doesn't get the salad really dry. No matter how long we spin, there still seems to be some water on the salad leaves.

It's got the same pump action as the last one (you press down on the big button that sticks out of the lid to spin it) and the pump button tucks away and it has a "brake" to stop the spinning, but it doesn't dry so well.

I've heard that Oxo now markets the old, white-top version under the brand "SoftWorks" in the States, but I can't find the white top in Australia. Sturdy, spin "brake", compact storage, can wash salad in the basket Doesn't get salad properly dry, not cheap
