Highly uncalibrated – The unit I bought may have been the only defective one on the shelf. It worked but the laser dot was 50 mm high and 60 mm to the right when tested on a straight 1800 mm steel beam. When I dismantled the unit it was visually obvious the laser module was way out of position. Fortunately the laser module is adjustable using a 1.25 mm Allen key. After about ½ hr of adjusting &testing I was able to get it pretty right for both the machined base and the magnetic surface.
How this particular laser level was factory tested and passed quality control is beyond me. Obviously it wasn’t.
Otherwise, the level, although plastic body, has the laser modules mounted to a rigid die-cast frame which also forms the machined base of the level.
Other than the laser dot alignments, this level promises a lot but, in my opinion, doesn’t quite make it. What you pay is what you get, and for less than $40 …..
Only half as good – The Laser level at first looks and feels good but once I started using it I noticed some short comings, - - the level bubbles can only be seen from one side - the line laser only projects to the right, the side facing the wall, so when wanting to project a line onto an adjacent wall it is not possible unless the unit is turned upside down but in that position the level is not resting on a machined surface and the level bubbles are not visible.
