Longevity – Have had this TV since 2006! Started as a family tv and inherited it post- college (2012) and has been going strong since! Ir only just started to have an intermittent issue- black line through the center at random- made me think and realize this TV has been in constant use for 18 years without issue until now (and the line isn’t super imposing or frequent). Excellent quality. Show reply
I got mine off hard rubbish ! – I got mine off hard rubbish at start of year ,need new tv as my samsung had melted at the back ...happens alot apparently . So I've had this exact model for 6 months has been left on for 10 hours a day left xbox on with same image, no burn in like other brands I didn't realize how old this behemoth was , but I'll be using until it dies, universal… Read more
remote works good on these also and next tv will be a Panasonic.i mean this thing is like new still! How much were they new btw?
this TV is still going after15 years of an absolute thrashing – screen left on for over 24 hours with game on pause many occasions... pic still perfect... have left it on for 72 hours straight on at least 50 times before... still gets used for at least 12 hours each day...
14yrs still going – Absolutely the best appliance I ever bought. This tv sees atleast 10 hrs of use per day minimum and has never skipped a beat, not even 1 dead pixel. At the time it was quite a expensive purchase but it definitely shows that you do get what you pay for. I'm looking at upgrading to bigger in the near future and definitely hope to be able to afford a new viera. Show reply
Hey this is a great TV – This TV was given to me with the proviso that I purchased a Set Top Box and retuned it..... If I was able to do it,it was mine. I have done exactly that and WOW how good is this TV It sits ontop of my entertainment unit and dwarfs my 32" flat screen. I have no complaints about this Panasonic at all
Excellent TV, still going after 10years – I purchased this Panasonic 42inch TH-42PV60a plasma in October 2006(10yrs ago) for $2200 plus LG set top box for $280 plus 5yrs extended warranty from Myer for $450. This tv is still going and there is no change in colour and still the pictures are same as when we bought in 2006. This was Made in Japan and this TV was also made in China before it… Read more
was discontinued.
THe fast motion movies are very good and true black. I love this Plasma and hope it will go another 5years.
It went BANG – Where do I start? Got one of these sets cheap from a guy in a pub, got it home and plugged everything in from my set-up stb's and whatever, switched it on and the dud went BANG. I turned it off and back on again, there was sound but no picture, I disassembled the monster and noticed the picture fuse had blown so I replaced it with some tin foil… Read more
and tried everything again. Nothing...then suddenly another loud BANG came from the rear followed by smoke. The tv went straight in the bin.
Bad – I would not rate this TV at all it fact there has to be better buys on the market. I bought a cheap set from WOW to use while mine was being repaired. (the repairer told me that panasonice sent the same part 3 times before i got one that fixed the problem) (which in itself says there was a problem with the part). HMMM the cheap set is now moved… Read more
to our bedroom as has been brillant. MY SUGGESTION: stay away from plasma's, and look for something other than a panasonic. has an excellent picture My TH42PA60A broke down 12mths and 3 days after i bought it. As it was 3 days out of warranty panasonic said it was not covered. it took over 3 months to get it back from the authorised repair agent with a reapir bill of $ 583.00
Excellent – Have had this screen for about 12 months now and never missed a beat! Love it, terrific for the price, easy setup, easy to use, 2x HDMI (when many of the other brands only had 1x), great and easy to use menu system. True colour, no real lag/clay model effect as found in my old Samsung 42" HD. I have been running a Topfield HD 7000 STB and never… Read more
had any issues with flaring as mentioned in the previous review.
All round very happy for my main PDP...
Looking to upgrade in size very soon, and will be looking at the Panasonic's yet again!
Great PDP!
