Patons Macadamia Royals

An Embarrassing Disgrace – Received a tin of Royals Chocolate covered macadamias for Xmas from my Daughter. The whole family were shocked to see me open the present to find a tiny packet of nuts at the bottom of the tin. The 30 nuts comprised about 20% of the tin. My poor Daughter was horrified having saved to buy me a special treat. Very poor form, Patons, way overpackaged and a rip-off. AVOID and advise your friends.
Freddie is the BEST! – Freddie is very personable and very knowledgeable. I took an EB for a test ride at Ashgrove and Freddie was very patient and helpful, I would highly recommend anyone thinking about purchasing an EB to speak with Freddie, he's the best!
Disappointed – Had a box bought back from my grandaughter from Australia to NZ - so disgusted - the macadamias where the size of a peanut or less and not great chocolate. Should get your macadamias from NZ
Love them – I’ve always loved them since I was young. They are hard to resist and I go through the box very quickly. Love both milk and dark just as much =P
This is perfect! Can't live without it! – I have always loved the taste experience of Paton's Macadamia Royals for years. I was very excited that my local Coles and Woolworths were selling them. I would purchase for me and for gifts for my friends and family. We all loved them. Now my local supermarkets don't stock them. Why not? Upon visiting your website, I was both surprised and… Read more
disappointed to read the poor reviews. Perhaps those people expected European chocolates which are made for the European climate. Your Australian taste sensation is made for the Australian climate, and as such, needs to be firmer (have a higher melting point) than European chocolates. Perhaps those people neither understand nor appreciate that. I think I represent the silent majority, as I know that as soon as the Patons chocolates hit the shelves, they are soon gone. I live in Victoria Park, in WA. Please restock the shelves. I'm off to speak to the store managers, as I was advised to do by your customer representative. Hopefully soon I will have my supply returned. :-)
Patons salted caramel macadamias – These were supposed to be salted caramel NOT salt balls with something in the middle. My "mother out law" bought a 140g packet of these as a present returning from her last cruise. These are probably the most disgusting SUPER salt flavoured things I have ever tasted short of a mouthful of sea water or bore water. I had several others in the… Read more
house and visiting sample them and all agreed that they were sickening and probably oversalted by about 4x or 6x.
I put in a complaint to Patons approx. 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing from their "customer service".
Packaged and priced to sell to tourists no doubt but an awful way for them to taste Australian product.
If I could give a 1/16 of a star even that would be too much.
How disappointing – I bought 3 boxes of Patons chocolate macadamia nuts at Brisbane domestic airport as a present for my neighbors. I thought I better taste before I gave them away. OMG they are the worst chocolate coated macadamia nuts I have ever tasted. Very disappointing as they weren't inexpensive, especially for buying 3 boxes. There is something wrong with the… Read more
chocolate and the nuts. They are a terrible showcase for Australia's chocolate macadamia nut industry.
Nothing special – Tastes like every other plain milk chocolate with a macadamia nut but with an expensive price tag! Not worth the price. Very disappointed with the product. Nothing special, will not buy again.
Bad Quality product - Worse Customer Service – I purchased multi-pack from Sydney Airport, to be used as gift for my Asian clients. Having bought these for many years, I knew they were pretty good, and clients had always previously enjoyed them. On this occasion, they tasted terrible, and I was embarrassed. I contacted Paton's customer support. [name removed], responded in earnest, and said… Read more
they would investigate. I gave batch numbers, purchase details, etc. But after 3 follow up emails without response, I have given up. I will never buy them again, and encourage everybody to boycott this terrible product that places a slur on the good name of Australian Chocolates!
Disappointed – It took them 3weeks to send the nuts and two packs missing, box had been damaged. Customer service not responsible at all. Very angry! Worst of worst! Never order again!!
Patrons - Milk Chocolate Macadamia Royals- A Common Taste With A Royal Price Tag – I purchased 8 boxes of Patons Macadamia Royals with an expiry date of 25/12/16. The company is large and has a good reputation having won awards mainly in the 1990's according to their website. These chocolate nuts were bought at night from a major supermarket and kept in the refrigerator. Most of these were given out as gifts but I had one spare… Read more
and thought I would share them with friends as a bit of a treat. We were very disappointed with the box I had. The chocolate was dull with a white dusty fleck on top. The chocolate tasted like compound chocolate and crumbled on eating. I contacted Patons who rang the next day to tell me that their reserve sample from that batch was good. He said their chocolate normally does not have gloss. He suggested the chocolate nuts were heat affected without of course blaming me. Pity I couldn't have viewed the white dusty chocolate nuts under the lid before I bought them.
Perhaps somewhere along the distribution line the chocolate nuts may have been exposed to heat but surely that is a packaging, product or distribution problem. For the RRP of over $15 for 16 chocolate nuts you would expect quality. Worst of all the deliciously smooth chocolate macadamia experience I was hoping to share with others may have made both Patons and myself look cheap.
