Pental Pears

Never again will I use Pears Soap! – For many years I used Pears original soap, stopped buying as it got too expensive. Was at Coles and it was on special as a clearance item. Used it for a day or so and had a horrific allergic reaction. Trip to emergency for help. Ended up with cortisone cream, antibiotics and anti histamines! Never will use Pears soap again. Tried to attach a pic unsuccessfully.

Awful – Ever since it's production in Saudi Arabia it has changed. It has lost the pears smell. The pumps fail constantly and leak. Bring back the old bottles and original aroma. Until that happens won't buy any more.

its terrible – It smells like petrol, I couldnt believe it, havent used pears for years, loved the smell, so i thought i would buy again. its terrible, never again, wont buy anymore, i was an iconic soap from my childhood

Disappointment – The new Pears hand wash is different, I was so excited to see it again. Oh the perfume, oh why did you change. The pump on the 2, 250ml bottles don’t work correctly. Please bring back the old shape and formula.

Won’t buy new pears hand wash! – The old hand wash smelt very nice. The new hand wash smells very awful. Nothing nice about it. I guess the old one in the round shaped bottle is no longer available. Will have to look for a new hand wash. Anyone got any suggestions?

Love the Indian version of pears hand wash (in above pears soap shape) – Indian version in pears soap shape is the lovely old version and hard to find. Newer version of pears (from Saudi) in rectangular shape is much more chemical in smell. Would like to know whether old version is still available

MINT Pears is worth a try – I wasn't able to find the original Pears hand wash but I did find one, at my local Terry White pharmacy, it's blue in colour, with mint extract. It's not bad, smells ok. After reading the reviews about the change with the original I'm pleased I haven't been able to find it & if I do I certainly won't purchase it. Thank you to all the people who have commented.

Why change – This new liquid soap is more like a cheap disinfectant smells like it too once bought twice shy Get rid of it suppliers have run out of old stock that should tell you something

Why change what’s good? – So disappointed with this new product. Like other reviewers I loved the original scent, and find the new one - not exactly awful, but it gives me a headache. The bottle is silly but I could live with that if it was the original fragrance. As it is I won’t buy it again. Please reconsider reintroducing the original scent.

and old fragrance, so sad I had to throw it away as it was empty. How can adding more chemicals improve a product, I'm truly baffled?? Also my hands feel really dry and I'm sure that never happened with the original. Will not be buying this product again sadly, I'm sure they'll lose a big customer base.

Disappointed – New shape bottle, wrong. Not a nice smell now, very strong. Used to love the smell of Pears liquid soap very subtle, but now now harsh, won't be buying again after all these years. As the saying goes ' if something ain't broke don't fix it.

Awful new fragrance – Please bring back the old product, as you have lost a customer. I used this product for a long time, but I wont be buying it any longer because Of the smell.

Awful new fragrance Oct 2018 – After many years of using Pears handwash, l was surprised at it's new appearance. l expected the same contents & was bitterly disappointed by the altered fragrance. It has a strong, chemical-like smell & l will not buy it again. However l will buy Pears handwash if l can obtain any in the original dispensers.

Too much!!! – We have used Pears Handwash for years. I was forced to buy the new product and the new formula is very heavily scented and feels greasy on hands. Please give us back the old one!

Lost customer – I too have been using Pears Hand wash for years as it had a very pleasant mild fragrance. Last time I purchased it the bottle was changed, (no problem), but when I used it the scent was so strong I felt as if I was in an operating theatre with disinfectant everywhere. I had to throw it out. Sadly I have now had to change from a once famous trusted brand. Disappointed to say the least.

Love the new scent – I just love the new scent of Pears hand wash, it seems to have a dash of coal tar in it and smells so fresh. I’ve used Pears for many years and I hint the new perfume is an improvement. I have loads of the soap bars so I haven’t bought any of these lately so I’m wondering if theses have changed too?9

New formula = bad product – I have been using Pears liquid soap in the hand wash dispenser which you can buy from large chain grocery stores. I have been wearing a mouthguard at night for a few years now. The dentist told me to wash it with liquid soap - not ordinary soap or toothpaste as that would be too rough on it. settling on Pears liquid soap - having rejected all the others because their scent was way too heavy.

Having used up my bottle of Pears liquid soap, I bought a new Pears liquid soap yesterday - they changed the bottle shape and size and as I found out later, also the recipe for the soap.

The scent of the soap is very strong - so strong that I was unable to wash it off at all ... I tried toothpaste to get the scent off my hands but to no avail.

When I looked at the back of the dispenser, they have added a lot more chemicals to it.

There is no way I could wash my mouthguard in it and get rid of the scent to put it in my mouth !

You've lost me Pears. Your product is in the rubbish bin never to be bought again.
