man would not let us see him as they revived him and send me a sickening video of my poor baby all alone not being able to breath whist we where sitting outside the hospital begging to be let in Our poor baby lasted all night whist where where outside then died at 5 am we wheee still not allowed to see him and we had to pay 8000 over the phone before we can go in to say our goodbyes we where asked if we wanted our dog to be cremated and we said yes as we did not know what else to do with him they told us we will be able to see him at 7.30 pm only to go in and be told our dog had been taken away already This man should never ever be allowed to practice again he is killing our animals I am happy to speak to any medical board to have him stopped cruelty should be his name This is the video he send us of our dying dog I still cannot watch it He is a very sick man
Follow-up · Chris Preston the worst vet in melbourne has been registered and reinstated again and again he should never ever practice again He got de registered again in march he should not be reinstated
This place still gives me nightmares – Chris Preston was struck off by the Veterinary Board for misconduct and treatment of animals. Our dog was just one of so many many animals who were harmed by him. The most frightening thing is that the Veterinary Board has re-instated his licence after he appealed so he can once again continue to harm animals.
Fantastic emergency service – Took my cat Sweetpea there today. All the staff are amazing. Friendly service . The vet explained everything to me what I needed to do at home highly recommend this place
High quality practice with great outcomes – Our 10 yro Maltese Shitsu has managed to snap both his cruciate ligaments over past year, the thought of him being lame or arthritic later in life was not an option so we went to Pet Emergency for a TPLO (twice). Chris was very friendly, helpful and informative, and both ops healed well, no complications, and he is back to his old self.
Very upsetting experience – My dog ate 2 neurofen, took him here to be given charcoal and induced vomiting. $400 which is fair. An additional $1500 for overnight care or we take him home overnight and for a check up at our local vet tomorrow. Quote from the admin “If he has liver failure at home he will die because tomorrow when you take him to the vet it will be too late” Profit before the care of the animal.
Top team here! – The whole team at the pet emergency and specialist center is excellent and they have always taken the utmost care with my dogs. Specifically Dr Chris Preston has been my go to vet doctor for many many years. Thanks heaps!
A Good place to Go good staff and great service an they treated my beloved pet very well – They are vets and knew how to handle my pets situation and advice me of treatment and routines so they made it easy for me to understand and follow instructions.
my hardest day as a dog owner – On the hardest day as a dog owner, the Pet Emergency and specialist centre veterinary hospital were amazing. From the compassionate greeting at reception, to the vet and nurse making my dog's final moments dignified and loved. I won't forget how well treated we were.
Loved it – I love this place! They always treat my pets with care and compassion at the pet emergency and specialist center. The office and console rooms is clean and the staff is genuinely friendly, knowledgeable and very professional.
Sooo good – I took my beloved 3kg Maltese dog here 7 years ago after she got hit by a huge truck (in comparison to her size). And the entire team here were incredible: They were professional, honest and genuinely cared about our dog as if it were their own. To the point where they looked over her, gave her the all clear. And kindly told us to keep her in a… Read more

Best staff in veterinary medicine – Best staff in veterinary medicine. They are simultaneously professional and down-to-earth friendly. They treat you and your fur baby like one of their own. I drive ridiculously out of my way just to come here. They run a very smooth and complete operation just fine with honest and high-quality experience you don't get much of anymore. I can't recommend them enough to friends and family.
Amazing vet hospital in Malvern East, Melbourne – Dr Chris and his team are just amazing and extremely kind and helpful taking care my dog. They take care of details and also did a great job on surgery. My dog always happy to go to the vet (which is not normal lol). I highly recommend this vet clinic due to experienced veterinarians and helpful staff.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE – One of the worst experience in my life, not only for me but my Cat, they offer the worst service and is all about how much they can make from you. first we were told :the worst case would be $1100. well they exceeded that by charging over $2000. When I ask why is was not called to approve any addition charges, no answer. in fact they never called… Read more
during the 24 hour stay, I had to phone over 8 time to find out any progress. And they call themselves professionals .. the cat was traumatised after the visit. for a basic issue, they drugged him to the eye balls, sedated him 5 time for no reason. he came home with an additional bladder infection due to the poor service. We are now reporting them to the AVA and suggest anyone who has the same experience do the same. how they treat animals is criminal. its been 4 days and my cat is still suffering from the poor service. thank goodness for the cat clinic who is taking good care of him and are always calling to check up on him.
