Can't set 12 Hours clock – I have PHILIPS CLOCK ALARM AND RADIO Model AJ3231/79. I can't set up 12 hours clock. Just like 2.00pm. Only set up 24 hrs. Like 14.00 Hrs.

Hi Nick, Indeed the AJ3231/79 is a 24 hour clock only. If you would prefer a 12 hour model, we would like to suggest exchanging it for a 12 hour model at the retailer you purchased it from.

Kind regards, The Philips Australia team.

Clock display won't stop flashing – Looks good, but radio cannot be used without the time display flashing. Brand new back-up battery does nothing to alleviate the problem, although searching leads me to believe this is the cause

Hey there, Thank you for writing down your experiences with the unit. We appreciate you took the time to write a review and would like to assist you from here.

To listen to the radio, the unit has to be plugged in to the mains power. The battery is only for clock backup if power fails.

You can find more information in the FAQ on our website: external link

Thank you - I'm well aware of that. Unit is plugged into mains power, and as I said, clock display flashes whenever the radio is turned on. My previous searches would indicate that this indicates low/flat back-up battery, however replacing the back-up no longer fixes the problem. Re-setting the clock stops the flashing display temporarily; within 30 secs or so it begins flashing again. Radio works perfectly well most of the time, but the issues with the display are frustrating.

Hate it! – Looks good but that's where the positives end. The alarm only goes for 30 minutes. So if you press the 10 minute snooze twice, the alarm never comes back on. And the snooze button is right next to the alarm off button so it's very easy to accidentally turn the alarm off. The screen is quite bright & is not dimmable. I really regret this purchase. Looks good Alarm only 30 minutes, snooze button too close to alarm off button, screen too bright
