I’ve returned 2 DreamStation’s so far due to not managing my AHI or displaying leaks
I have had 2 DreamStations (not including loaners) in the last 200 days, I’ve sent back one for repairs, the replacement is going back tomorrow for repairs again, it’s unreliable, the pressure isn’t consistent, it doesn’t record leaks and dreammapper doesn’t display the Major leaks that wake me up.
I gave this replacement machine 60 days, and my AHI have been above 7.5 over 60% and of the time - and my AHI is your over 15, over 33% of the time.
I would recommend trying a different Brand if buying a CPAP machine.

Waste of money, time and sleep
Second cpap machine (first was the earlier gen from resperonics) I’ve had. I really wish there were more choices in the marketplace. The dream station has been anything but! It was noisy within a year and took it back to [name removed]. They changed settings but I could tell they weren’t too interested. It also started getting stuck on the high setting at some point in my sleep, but wouldn’t go back to down! I’d wake up having weird dream of being in a hurricane or something. It’s done this many times now. Took it back but in spite of having da...ta card in it, tech said that that problem wouldn’t be recorded on my machine? Now in addition to continuing those problems, it just makes different and varying noises throughout night and I have to try and sleep with a pillow over my ear. I really wish I had the old machine back. The dream station been problems almost from the first month! Sorry resperonics but you burned a lot of people with this thing. Update as of 2020 June 12...[name removed] has changed Name to [name removed]? or something like that. During last month I was asked to bring in machine for them to assess. They apparently found the same problems that I reported, and they replaced the machine under warranty. I am very grateful for that! Unfortunately the replacement machine is another dream station but so far this one is working. I am afraid to touch it for fear it will start acting up but for now it is working. If I may resperonics, one of the problems is perhaps a marketing as well as design problem? I know the current thinking is for products to be new and added features. I don’t think that is the thinking however, for these types of products. Owners want a cpap machine to carry out its fairly simple operations w/o hassle. To be quiet and user friendly. To be durable and easy to clean. The 2 piece...dismantling design of the dream station offers no advantage to the user! It simply contributes to a loose, rattling machine and probably much of the noise? It seems, gimmicky, frankly. Resperonics generally makes products that actually appear to be medical devices, compared to others that seem kinda Bush league. I would build on that and come up with one good, solid, durable, easy to clean, easy to read and change settings design and stick with it. Improvements or updates should be minimal and only resolve actual problems and make quieter. Anyway, just a respectful opinion to try and help. I may buy next cpap machine from resperonics but I wouldn’t buy dream station again. Thank you.

Problems even after warranty replacement; inconsistent, inaccurate, unreliable pressures, constantly variable treatment.
I have been doing CPAP therapy for 6 months.
I have had 5 machines, and of those 5 machines, 2 of them have "broke" one of them, a loaner was that ended up having a faulty humidifier and hose) that was replaced with a different loaner, the other one I purchased was replaced under warranty..
The New machine has completely different event information (that is number of apneas, central vs obstructive, leaking etc) I have woken up with the mask half off and it leaking everywhere and there now NO disconnects and NO leak recorded for the period tha...t I used the machine, that is 18 days with no leaks and yet I have been woken up by it leaking. I also record my stats, using a Fitbit, a Garmin watch and a oximeter, one night all my devices except the CPAP picked up a drop in my O2 to 70%, the CPAP machine didn't pick up ANYTHING at the time at which that happened, no apneas or any kind, In addition, with every machine there is a consistent, Centrals Apneas are what I have the most of, the Hypoapneas, then Obstructive apneas. The 4 machines prior to my current one show this, however my current one doesn't, it doesn't seem to register even similar information (just averages) to the machines I had before (and this is the new replacement)

This is an excellent CPAP Machine
I have bought this CPAP dreamStation to replace an Old model (system 1 also from Phillips).
I have to say that this DreamStation is an excellent CPAP machine and far far better than I previously own.
It is very quiet and I can sleep straight for 6 - 8 hours every night and my AHI is between 1 - 2 sometimes less than 1.
The humidifier works really well in compare to the older models and the heating on the Water chamber and the tube are excellent, I only set it on 3 on both.
However, I fill up with demineralized water that I bought from coles.
I really can't find any faults on this machine yet.

Return to sender!
I bought my Philips machine because it had the features I wanted. I go camping a lot and the fact that it is 12v, that the humidifier can be removed and bypassed and that it is lighter that a Resmed S10 were all major factors to my choice of a Dreamstation.
From the moment it was plugged in, it wheezed through the filter box. There was also a strong vibration from the motor. I could not get to sleep from the noise and could hear the vibration through my pillow. It was sent back to Blooms The Chemist who promptly swapped it for another. The new...

I've had one of these for 2 or 3 years now and it's made a huge improvement to my life. It's the only one I've used so can't compare. I've traveled extensively with it too. Thanks Philips!

Much noisier than thought
The machine seems to be pretty noisy, not what I was expecting in that regard. Anyone have any tips for reducing the noise at the machine?
I sometimes put it on the floor.

Humidifier keeps cracking and leaking water
Have had the machine for 1.5 years and on my 5th humidifier. Provider programmed all settings, humidifier cracks then leaks water all over the nightstand (ruined the stain on the wood and various books). So frustrated with this machine and being charged repeatedly for humidifiers...not one issue with my old Resmedin 11 years.

Horrendously expensive parts
My one star rating is for cost of parts. I have no complaints whatsoever with my Dreamstation and have been using it for around 3 years. I have however had to buy replacement parts for my dreamwear mask. The first was the small piece for under nose - over $90!! Today I have replaced the rubber and felt strap for the mask - another $90+. Philips, what is your justification for charging these exhorbitant prices??

My CPAP has been very noisy as well as the first one I had. I have had two Philips CPAP Dream Stations and they were both noisy. The first one I had was a disappointment because of the nosise and the dirt debris I found inside the turbine. I took it apart and found crap in the turbine./Compressor. I replaced the filters on a timely basis as prescribed by Philipes and it still had dirt debris in it. I took it back to the VA but they said would send it back to Philips and it seems that they lost it. They did give me a new one .

Difficulty sleeping due to machine getting louder over time
When I purchased this machine it worked really well & was very quiet. Over time it gradually gets louder which makes it very hard to sleep. I have even got to the point where I turn it off as it wakes myself & my wife. I’m very disappointed in this device. My brother purchased a different brand machine & it's very quiet. We both purchased approx 2 years ago.

Way too Noisy
This machine is easily the noisiest machine on the market. The whiring noise coming from the motor keeps me awake. Took it to the medical supply company that supplied it and their answer, CPAPs make noise.

The worst experience with CPAP Dreamstation machine.
After completing a two month trial with a reputable sleep clinic I purchased a Phillips Dreamstation. The noise has made sleeping without a sedative impossible the whinning noise is consistent and loud. After eight nights I was experiencing AHI episodes, headaches and all the symptoms of sever sleep apnea. The machine does not maintain pressure during the night nor temperature. I became genuinely unwell due to this faulty machine. Phillips refused to refund me for my 8 day old faulty machine. It was replaced with another faulty machine. ...The noise again makes peaceful sleeping impossible, waking with the ringing in my ears. The machine does not provide consistent pressure, my mask behaves like a plunger on my face as I breathe which is very uncomfortable. I awoke during the night out of breath and the sensation if being suffocated. It took time to catch my breathe and regulate my heart beat. I also expeeience headaches from this machine. Phillips has ignored the health and wellbeing of those who need this intervention to enjoy quality of life. I'm out of pocket 1300 a faulty machine, sleep deprivation and depression from feeling powerless.

Good nights sleep
After being diagnosed with moderate to sever Sleep Apnea I purchased the Phillips DreamStation. Since using it now for nearly 12 months I am sleeping much better and I no longer keep my wife awake at night. The unit is easy to use and the mask style suits me very well. I like the way it has a humidifier and that the hose wares up to avoid condensation in colder weather. I appreciate the Blue Tooth connectivity that provides me with up to date data of how long I have used the unit each night and how well I have slept and any issues.
I used a phillips dreamstation for around 2 months when suddenly it started to make lots of noise, humming, whistling and the sound of wind blowing around my face although mask was not leaking, i have a dreamwear nasal mask. I sent it back and have just received a new one. This is worse, first night the noise same as above and the wind sound is incredible and the mask isn't leaking, also the heated hose heats up for the first hour or so then goes cold and so does the humidifier. The plate heats up for and hour or so then is cold for the rest of...the night..doesn't matter what setting i have it on. I hate this machine and i would advise not to purchase one. I find it odd that the machines they hire out don't do this, just the ones you purchase. Costs a fortune, filters need changing all the time and cost a fortune masks need replacing regularly and cost a fortune. Its just a big money making scam for another rich company. Im disgusted with the service and the products.
Do not buy
I have received two machines this month. First one kept shutting off for no reason. The second one is so loud, it prevents me from sleeping. I am hoping since I got replacement last week I can return it. It sounds like someone is vacuuming when you breathe. This machine has done it since day One and first one glitches since day one.
Way less effective than my s9
After having a consistent 0.2-2.2 AHI for years with my S9 APAP, i have been presented with a dreamstation by my med team as an update. My AHI is now between 7 & 4. The pressures on the machine seem to average at first 7 (cmH2O) to the latest 10. This seems a little weak for me with an AHI of 45 untreated. I have decided to alter the settings from a base of 6 cmh2o to 8 but the results remain erratic and over the standard for being controlled. I will persists for a while longer as i have activated the A-flex feature now.
Noisy and wet - Solved
Have had this a month. Has developed a loud whirring noise when I inhale. "Heated" tube has wet condensation in a 68 degree hotel room. Looked for similar reviews and found one mentioning overfill of humidifier being the issue. But it also said he made sure gaskets were properly seated. Looked at gasket in my unit between the reservoir and main unit. Indeed it was partly unseated. Carefully repeated it. WOW. Unit was super quiet and the noise in my pillow mask was gone. It became so quiet that I got up and checked the front to be sure it was on.... Breathing was easier too. The unit also stayed at only 6.0 cm h20 - I had been having problems with the unit going crazy with high pressures - none of that last night. How one little gasket could cause such a loud unit and cause my pillow mask to be so noisy is beyond me, but it did. The gasket probably got dislodged when putting in the humidifier water tray - that's my best guess. Just the top and side were pulled out a bit so the mis-seating was not immediately evident.
Questions & Answers
Why would the light on the power button be off for almost a month, and then suddenly reappear? I've had the dreamstation for over a year now.
My philips respironics dreamstation power button and information screen is blinking on and off. How do I correct the problem?
