Pinnacle 5 Tier Adjustable Shelf

Junk – Bought a large shelf for my sons toy room & required an extra shelf. Pinnacle does not sell parts stating it will void warranty. The thing is full of lego holding barely any weight. I will be buy RACK IT or similar where parts are available.
Can’t purchase replacement parts – I recently lost the cross bars whilst moving. I contacted Pinnacle who replied that they do not sell replacement parts so I had to throw The whole rack out and purchase another one. Terrible waste. I will be purchasing a system that sells spare parts such as rackit. It also cost me money to take it to the tip.
Don’t buy it! Very Unsafe & Barely Useable – I purchased this unit through Bunnings Munro Para West. Honestly I had high hopes as it ticked all the boxes with great size, deep shelves and good looks…(I was very wrong)…. I realised shortly after I had purchased this unit it was an absolute hunk of crap that needed to be returned ASAP. I also felt the need to post this to try and warn others… Read more
to avoid the same mistake I made by purchasing this unit.
Firstly Pinnacle you should be ashamed at the quality of your work, it’s clear you just care about the bottom line and the evidence is in the quality of your finished product you sell to customers. You’ll be lucky if you’ve haven’t already been sued for this falling on someone while the shelves are loaded
I’m just going to dot point because there is too many negatives to get through.
- MDF shelves are weak and suites to the load rating. - Design is poor and not fit for purpose - The advertised Metric tone that apparently your unit can hold is utter trash. The cross braces bent almost instantly when assembled correctly then loaded. - The way you have to stack one rack on top of the other with 4x 2mm rods in each corner is really dangerous as there is too much movement in your flimsy materials to provide a stable base to build on.
I could not pack the unit up quick enough to be returned.
Do not buy this. The one star is even too much.
Designed for flatpack makes it flimsy – Just assembled a Pinnacle 1830 x 1200 x 410mm 5 Shelf Shelving Unit bought from Bunnings. Had HammerLok before and liked them. The Pinnacle Shelf is flimsy and hard to put togehter compared with that. Especially the joints between the lower and upper supports are a bad compromise. I would not trust the load rating of (only) 200kg per shelf above… Read more
this point. For the price that they are selling for you can get much sturdier options with one-piece support frames. I had limited space, so could not use a more sturdy commercial unit that is typically deeper. Overall: Not good value for money - I can not recommend them.
Pinnacle claim that selling you an extra shelf would void the warranty! What crap – Pinnacle Hardwares website FAQs state that they “can’t” sell consumers an extra shelf because it would void the warranty. What crap! What are they warranting? That the shelf unit will collapse if they allowed you to add 1 extra shelf? Sure, if you overload any shelf it will fail. Their claim is unsupportable without providing load test results.… Read more
Their “warranty” claim is nothing more than a thin excuse to induce customers wanting another shelf to purchase another shelf unit.
Sturdy but in need of improvement – This is a good sturdy unit that needs to be put into place and not moved. If you try to move it make sure to grab it by the bottom half and perhaps use a friend to help. Grabbing by the top half will separate it from the bottom and then it will be hard to reassemble without virtually dismantling the top half. When you go to seat the top onto the… Read more
bottom the legs just sit on each other and are supported on the inside by small connector pins. Personally I feel these are just too thin and could bend easily. You are supplied with 8 foot end caps, using 4 and keeping 4 as spare. I think they should also supply extra pins given the thinness of them. A great improvement would be for the top half to sit on the bottom half better and the connecting pins to be sturdier. Other than that it seems like a good strong little unit. One star off for what I consider a design floor that can make the unit a bit of a nuisance during assembly and/or moving.
