Old Fashion Service And Attention To Detail – Purchased a throttle cable yesterday, however they only had a generic one. As it was far too long for my mccullock mower I took it back and they shortened it to suit. No hassle , no cost. Handled with a smile . Great service and would not hesitate to return.

Not recommended – Based in Wacol now from what I can understand, trading as PED/Tandem/ TPE/ GSK/ Richlands Mowers & Chainsaws or whatever they call themselves these days. (there are PED agents in Qld, NSW & ACT refer the web site for confirmation) We bought this so called top of the range brushcutter from the Anstead outlet before it closed down earlier this year. $700 or so it set us back initially with add ons, harness, extra blade etc ... to date we've spent about $1800 all up trying to get it fixed by these people. Firstly, they "forgot" to tell us that this Honda SX35 motor, brand new, fresh off the boat from a dealer in the US (doing it this way they avoid Australian duty, taxes & commissions by not buying wholesale from Honda Australia which from what I can glean from Honda themselves is illegal) wasn't under any warranty ... Honda Australia won't even talk to us given it's a US serial # on the item. We discovered the whole process was illegal when we tried to get a spare part from Honda in Melbourne. So we went back to PED/ Tandemmowers, (at the Anstead shop) after the hybrid shaft broke it's clutch drum on the welded section, only to discover that no parts were available in Australia & would you kindly go away NOW. Hassled some more, talked to the boss, spare parts, the agent in Ipswich & a supplier in the UK but this mob can't even order the right after-market part after waiting 6 months or so. Can't make minds up about the price, started off at $140 then dropped it to... $60 (that is in writing) .... & now won't take anything less than $90 AND it's not the part we ordered (they've added on the inner shaft which we don't need). Latest effort is refusing to reply to emails saying we're "junk mail" or should that be male :) Note that a similar/same name part from Honda Australia is $36 - OEM being a different designed system in relartion to attaching to the motor ... great shame that but would suggest it's intentional. They refuse to supply specifications & a service manual for the shaft. Then they start throwing allegations & accusations around about not communicating (that's the boss again). Then they have the audacity to complain that I haven't picked the item up within 24 hours of it being available !! go figure ... an attitude we could well do without.

The last straw was the boss now saying it's all our fault for having attached a solid blade to the shaft. Anstead agency sold us this blade in the first place & at no time said it couldn't be used with the unit.

Whatever happened to that old fashioned good will & integrity that honest, responsible traders, ourselves included, have been expounding for decades?
