Hi, this is not about the PSD650, it's about the PSD1600. My computer technician and I are having trouble with the software. I am running Windows 10 with all of the updates but still have problems. This is what we sent PowerShield again today but what we were told to do has already been done.
“Reiterate to them that yes, we have fully removed the program, AND reinstalled it to it’s default directory. After doing so, trying to open the application shows a blank webpage with Localhost:(PORT_NUMBER) and will not display anything further. This happens when it is running from C:\netguard folder, OR any other installed folder. The Java runtime folder automatically removed itself from the C:\NEtguard location, and even adding exceptions to antivirus, windows firewall and malware protection. Exceptions have been applied for the .exe file itself, the javaw runtime files, the entire program folder and all it’s contents. “
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have just bought this unit to provide UPS to my WiFi router. Unfortunately is sits right next to my TV and the UPS display brightness is so annoyingly bright. Is there any way of dimming the display or turning it off when there is no status change or something? Thanks
Thanks Dean. Unfortunately, this is the default of the unit and I do agree that it is quite bright. Whilst we have no after market fix for this, we are looking at having a function that can dim this light in the future.
Thanks Malcom. Can the beeping on battery be turned off?
This is a safety precaution and is there to warn you that the UPS needs attention. You can turn it off though the NetGuard software but please note that this must be redone if the UPS ever shuts off.
Have a Defender 650. How I hate the damn thing. The unit is fine but the software is utter rubbish. Running on Win 10 with the latest version from your support site. Most of the time the monitor fails to start. Over bloated software. How about a simplified version for home owners that work!

I have computer and audio equipment which use power supplies to run dc. Like a laptop. If I connect a PowerShield ZapGuard to the PSD650 can I connect those to the power board into the Defender?

Just a question about this unit - I have some fanless equipment (a NUC and some PoE switches) in a cabinet without any external ventilation. I understand that this unit is also fanless and that it should maintain ambient temperature externally. Is there any guidance as to whether this would be unsafe operating conditions for the UPS or if it may operate in a confined space without external ventilation?
Hi Nate, It is important to maintain some form of reasonable external ventilation to assist with the convection cooling of the unit if it is installed in an enclosed cabinet.
