Very disappointing – As mentioned by previous reviews there is a clear bow on the base of cutter. So while it is okay to score halfway up, beyond that it does not score. I had to pad underneath tile at head of machine. Then I get a reasonable score but it becomes a pain in the butt as you then need to remove pad once tile scored and re-position exactly if you want to snap it.

QEP 300mm Handyman Tile Cutter – It does not work if the rails are not oiled: I use three or four passes over each tile, which would not be recommend with a good tile bitter. That means that you need to hold the tile firmly in the same place to deepen the cut and not start another cut. I find it does not take too much force to cut it this way. It is imperative that the breaking mechanism is at the extreme end of the tile before trying to break it. Otherwise it will crack elsewhere. At the end of the day it is a cheap Chinese machine and they keep things cheap by using poor design and materials. Bunnings make a packet out of it as they import them for very little and gets as much out of the customers as possible. The sad thing about Bunnings is that they have out competed better tool shops, which sold quality tools and now we are largely left with a choice of cheap Chinese stuff. Even for a handy man, try and get a better cutter as breaking tiles can be costly in both time and money.

Good for about 10 cuts – Although it was cheap, it is a waste of money. I was cutting 75 mm wide tiles and it managed about 20 cuts before the base bent and it was unusable. The first 10 were OK, the next 10 started chipping when breaking the tile and then it didn't work at all. Don't waste your time.

Unusable – Although this tile cutter was only $23 at Bunnings, I still wasted my money. The tile cutter makes a neat cut however the cut has a slight but noticeable bow as opposed to the straight line cut it's supposed to be. Maybe I was just unlucky with this particular cutter but I certainly wouldn't recommend it for jobs where the cut can be seen. The bow would be obvious in contrast to the uncut tile edges.
