I purchased one of these photo frames and within six months it was replaced with another one that only lasted for another six months I would not waste my time and money on anything ever again
Out of the box: Faulty – Took it out of the box, put about 3gb worth of photos on it, no issues. Plug it in to the power point and it's now stuck in a loop of booting up l, freezing and then turning off. Then turns on again, freezes and turns off. Does not stop until turning power point off. This product is absolutely garbage
So many photos not working! – My son sent us this as a Christmas present because we hadn't been able to meet our new grandson in person. It would have been lovely if the photos weren't pixelated or half cut off or not showing at all. So disappointed.
Do Not Buy This – Very cheap quality. Far too difficult to work out how to work it. Keeps freezing. Totally useless product. I am about to return this and I only bought it yesterday.
Works without and instruction manual with persistence – After several attempts at getting one of these devices with all the components in the box, I ended up with everything except the instructions. However, it wasn't too hard to get it going and loading both pictures (jpeg) and movies with sound (mpeg-4) working. As suggested by others it does freeze if it finds some incompatible pics mainly because… Read more
of the size of the image e.g. it doesn't like panoramas. The internal memory of 4 G is pretty good.
To load photos to internal memory just plug it into your computer via the (potentially!) supplied USB->camera cable (USB to computer) and then it treat it like a USB storage and copy the pics/movies over as if dumping to a USB stick. Once you disconnect it starts playing the pics.
To test a specific pic or movies to see if it works put them on a USB stick in the root directory, then plug the USB stick into the device, and try and play it (the USB storage will come up as the default).
The default showing settings tries to fit the images to the full window. Changing the settings to keep the images to the original size fixes that.
Finally - how to change settings. After turning on, press the lowest button on the back of the unit. That gets you into menu mode. Then use the arrows (left/right/up/down) to move around to highlight (slightly bigger image when highlighted) one of the six menu items, then press the central (Select) button in-between the arrows to select the menu item. Then use the arrow keys to highlight the thing on the left you need to change, and then press the Select button.
I have never gotten the remote control to turn it on - but it does turn it off :-)
Piece of rubbish – Mum bought this for my grandmother as she has dementia. I have loaded it with photos and some are indeed pixelated too. My other issue is, videos will not play in the format specified on the box. Have tried a few different ones, but they are all MP3 MP4 and will not play no matter what I do. I have noticed it is now discontinued...good.
Six months then it's useless – Have been using this for six months and no problems UNTIL now. The photos are now breaking up with pixelated areas randomly appearing. I don't know what to do to stop it. The user manual is useless and I'm unable to find any help online. I don't recommend this product.
Freezes randomly – I received this product as birthday gift. Freezes randomly after turning on. Sometimes it will view slide show 30 pictures then freeze. Sometimes it freezes after the 3rd picture. Also some pictures show up very pixelated and hard to make out.Frustrating. Not worth the hassle. Poor quality. Instruction booklet very small & basic.
gremlins – I've loaded this frame (SD card) with photos from my Mac. It freezes often and I restart, freezes again randomly. Of interest, when I look at the frame first thing in the morning it is working fine. What gives? I should really take the advice of others and return it to the store but hey, it is entertaining! price, size doesn't work will
It's good, but – I too received this as a Christmas gift and was excited to be able to show off my photos. Unfortunately, after I switched it on, after a few minutes, it freezes on a photo and has to be reset - turned off and on again. I've tried three different USB devices, but that hasn't helped. Does anyone know why this happens? Good picture Keeps freezing
Didn't work out so well for me – I was given this digital photo frame as a christmas gift. I always wanted one, needed to get my daughter to work out how to use it, but that is probably just me. Within a month the frame was freezing on a photo, it wouldn't do anything when I tried to fast forward, stop, pause or turn off on the remote, so I just had to turn it off at the power… Read more
point. When I turned it on again, it would work ok for a couple of minutes then it would do the same thing, freeze. I rang the company and they said I could return it to the shop I bought it from and if they still had it in stock, they would give me a new one. Good colour of photos, looked nice Kept on freezing, had to return it to the store
