Qpix FS-170 Questions & Answers
How can I get a replacement of the CD ROM FOR QPIX DIGITAL FS01
Recommend you try the internet to see if CD-ROMS are available. I used a QPIX FS-170 until it conked out but found that if I plugged it into the PC to power it up I would still be able to work it. Even without a CD-ROM you would still be able to do your work - true you may have to fiddle around a bit but you should still be able to see your scanned work - and download it. Not much help I know but not having used a QPIX for ages that's the best I can do. Good luck.
Can anyone provide me with replacement film and slide holders for the FS 170 scanner, or tell me where I may purchase please.
Suggest you try QPIX website or ebay. However I believe your chances of getting replacements are slim - it might be better to purchase. a new film scanner. Youtube has videos displaying what are considered to be some of the best on the market, currently. I used the FS-170 and found it quite good.

Does the QPix FS 170 work on a MacBook? Is there a simple user manual I can follow?
I can't see scanner on my PC? What I have to do to upload photo from scanner(FS-170)
There are usually two types of scanners - those that come with their own software and those that use some other software. From memory - because I haven't used my Qpix FS-170 in quite a while - I believe the Qpix can use the Photoshop Elements software. I suggest accessing Qpix via Photoshop Elements or Photoshop Express. If you do not have either of these on your PC then download from the internet. Once downloaded - ensure that Qpix is connected to the PC as well - open the Photoshop Elements/Express and select File (top left menu entry) and Import. When you select Import a small pop-up will display and Qpix should be one of the items. Select it and away you go. One important note - I will check back to what I did and confirm but it shouldn't matter what photo-editing software you use, it should be compatible. Remember to ensure that the Qpix is plugged into the PC. Good luck.
Thanks
Additionally, I have found that my Qpix FS-170 came with a software CD and an information booklet. The booklet advised using BlazePhoto. I tried this but ran into issues. When I tried to contact Blaze via both the web and email I got no response - this was several years (4-5) ago and I haven't been back to check. Instead I tried my own method using Photoshop and/or PhotoImpact - both worked. Whether you use Windows XP or 10 or anything in between you should be able to view your photos when you connect your USB to the PC. However, if using Photoshop or PhotoImpact (or any software for that matter) you will have to import the photos onto the PC (save in a special folder eg C:/My Pictures/Qpix shots). Once you have saved them onto your PC you can view them via any number of applications. Good luck.
I have FS-170 and now I got time to use it... How I download pictures from scanner memory to PC latest window Or which photo software I need to connect to scanner to take direct pictures to PC from scanner Please email: pkpkm99@gmail.com Thanks, PK
Your FS-170 should have come with Blaze Photo software - however I found that next to useless. When you plug the FS-170 into your PC via the USB, you should A) get a pop-up asking what you wish to do with the connection in which case you simply select the 'open folder to view' option and take it from there or B) have your folders open so you can see what is on you computer C:/ drive and when you connect the FS-170 there should be an additional entry created for the FS-170 and this should allow to download your photos. Good luck.
My computer recognises the Qpix FS01 as a webcam and then I get error message when running software saying that the hardware is not compatible why is this happening
Suggest you may need to check your drivers but further details are required. What type of OS are you using eg: Windows 7, Windows 10, 32/64 bit? How old is your computer?
I have the same problems using Windows 10
When I try to open the app I get a message saying 'open video device failed' and all functions oin the tool are greyed out..any ideas anyone.. please..
I bought a Qpix FS170 scanner from a secondhand shop but without a CD-Rom disk can I download a copy from internet?
I haven't been able to find one online
I too looking for an updated software for Window 7 and 8. The CD supplied with the scanner is up to Window Vista only.
This is a bit late for a reply but I will send/submit it nonetheless. Copies should be available on the internet. Even so the hardware, connected via USB, should be visible as an extra drive on your PC and may not need a CD to be viewed. It may be that you might have to update some drivers as well - these should be available as a free download. As for details regarding data for Windows Vista - this should still be compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 10 in most cases. If not then the Options can be amended so that the software can be run in 'compatibility mode' on your PC.
Why, when i scan my slides the photo comes out in a red negative? What am i doing wrong?
Hi,
In settings in the menu you can switch negatives to normal.
