RAC Membership Benefits

Inflexible, unjustified organisation – This big organisation does not care about anyone except their board members. From storm damage claims that aren’t paid out because the wind on the weather report didn’t match the damage, not renewing car insurance because they spelt my name wrong then failed to carry over my NCD and not allowing you to cancel your membership without paying the year in full. There is so much better out there.
AVOID AVOID AVOID! – I pay £18.99 for what I thought was comprehensive cover - courtesy car, tyre cover etc. Having broken down a few weeks ago it appears this was not the case at all. Despite the driver issuing me with a voucher to collect new tyres upto the value of £150 the RAC will not honour the deal. Furthermore the hire car did not arrive for almost 24 hours leaving me stranded & having to pay huge cab fares. Save your money & choose Green flag.

I'm still a blue member. Disappointing... Browsed a membership benefits and wanted a new set of tyres. Their prices are hiked up to accommodate 10% discount. Even with those 10%… Read more
off, still more expensive than other shops without a discount. Disappointing again. It's just not worth it.
Membership Benefit Exclusions – Over a period of time I have noted that these so called Membership Benefits or discounts from certain sellers are basically either non existent, fraudulent or with so many terms and conditions attached it becomes a waste of time and effort. Just One of many examples. Retravision and the RAC constantly advertise a 5% discount on items purchased… Read more
however when you read the terms and conditions in microscopic print at the bottom it somehow excludes Asko, AEG, Falcon, Falmec, Gaggenau Miele, Speed Queen and Neff products. As I understand the law this can only be interpreted as price fixing with the culprits being the supplier, the retailer and the RAC which conveniently sanctions these unethical practices. There are too many others to mention. Best practice is do your own ring around and forget this trap. Might be better if the RAC stick to its core functions and forgets about this other nonsense and halve its staff in the process.
